In my opinion this is the best traditional restaurant in Frankfurt. Service is great and meals are really well cooked. I really enjoyed apple wine and soda duo. Prices are really competitive.

We hunted this place down on account of the strong reviews. From the outset we were looked after by friendly staff who spoke good English. We enjoyed some good Pilsner and we tried the pickled pork knuckle with souerkraut - incredible. We also had frankfurter sausages. Very tasty and lovely building and decour. A must when in Frankfurt.

Went here when visiting a friend who lives in Frankfurt. It's on a pretty quiet street so definitely make sure you know where you're going before you set off. The place is lovely though, very traditional inside and the food and drink were top notch. We all ordered separate dishes and each one was delicious; proper, hearty German food. The... More

This was a second visit to the place. The good time I had in the previous visit ensured that it makes itself into my packed itinerary. Reached about 6:40pm on a Wednesday. Sunny day so we decided to head outdoors. It was 75% occupied, the inside was completely empty. Being just the two, we were guided to an 8 sitter... More

I was taken here by my friend who lives in Frankfurt and we had the Frankfurt schnitzel which was really good. I was pleasantly surprised by the meal here as well as the restaurant. We started with the handkäse starter which is a local cheese in Frankfurt. It was a very strange cheese but really good. Took a few bites... More

Our hotelier suggested this, if you have never been to Frankfurt, or have little time, this cozy place, with plank table sna bences, a beer garden ouit back and a variety of beer and wines, will satisfy the most picky eater. Families welcome. Very busy but fast service regardless.

I traveled alone in search for Apfelwein and found a great place for it here. The service was very friendly and kept my drinks coming. The schnitzel I had came with a delicious green sauce, which I learned was special for Frankfurt and the Hesse region. One of the best dishes I had in Frankfurt and a really special experience!

For us...Best traditional restaurant in Frankfurt. Great service and big pieces of good meat really well coocked. We also love the applewine and licuors. The surprise: low price.

Atschel in Frankfurts vibrant Brückenviertel (Sachsenhausen) serves real good food for reasonable prices. We started with the classic "Handkäs mit Musik", which is a local low fat cheese, served with oil, vinegar and onions. The cheese was almos perfect, although i wouldn't have complained if it had two and not just one pieces :-). Our main courses were Sachsenhausen classics... More
