We love a bit of German food and Atschel was pretty good. Decent sized servings. Charming staff. Warm atmosphere. I've had tastier German fare but those places often felt a bit touristy - Atschel feels more like an authentic suburban pub.

The food is not great but reasonable priced and if you like to eat in a very noisy sauna, this is the place to go. Not the place for a quiet conversation but bearable after the third glas of appler and quite an exercise in some traditional Frankfurt drinking and eating habits. For a more relaxed experience visit one of... More

A highly recommended restaurant that is loud and fun. Patrons are friendly and as typical you might be sharing a table with them. Unfortunately if you are looking for great food this isn't the place. The beer is great and the apple wine is special. But the knuckle was over cooked and dry as a bone. The sauerkraut was very... More

We went there on a crazy busy Wednesday night. The restaurant is fully booked but still people coming inside and waiting at the bar zone. That was a quite much noise in the restaurant that you need yell at the persons who you wanna talk with. Food was very good. Recommend to try the traditional German "schweinshaxe" that also the... Although off the beaten track a bit, this place is well worth a visit. Packed with locals enjoying tasty local cuisine - we enjoyed the green sauce especially with pork in breadcrumbs. There was also decent selection of German beer. This restaurant isn't decorated top notch but the food is! It deserves it high ranking on trip advisor

It's a relaxed and friendly simple restaurant. German food in general. The schitzel with green sauce is probably the best one I've ever had. The apfelstrudel was excellent too. English speaking staffwas very friendly, helpfull and proud of their food. The only negative point was that they don't serve Weissbier, but the Licher Pilsen did the job well enough. it's... More

It is a nice restaurant in german style, that has benches and big tables, that you might sit and eat with other persons. Once being there, you have to try the big plate for 4.. It is a variety of dishes and it is enormous!! Godd choice and good prices (at least for locals..)

Outdoor beer garden with some indoor seating as well. Have some of the apple wine (Apfelwein) after dinner for a nice touch. The "small" schnitzel au gratin on a potato pancake (Atschel-Krüstchen) is great, and enough food to enter into a coma. Heavy but great. Pretty consistently good the few times I have been, although the Wurstsalat was a bit... More

Lots of english at this place inclusive of the menu and customers. Easy to find and get to via the trains. Located in the hip Sachsenhausen neighbourhood. Authentic German cuisine with some regional dishes as well. Prices were reasonable. Has apfelwein and less touristy overall than other places in the area. We liked our food, but it was not outstanding.... More

In my opinion this is the best traditional restaurant in Frankfurt. Service is great and meals are really well cooked. I really enjoyed apple wine and soda duo. Prices are really competitive.
