Competition among "traditional German restaurants" in Frankfurt is quite tuff, and this restaurant did not win me. The menu is a bit disappointing - not many choices, especially among the 'traditional' options. Quality was good, but nothing impressive. The Apfelwein is quite standard, and at least my impression was that it is not of their own production. Also the ambience... More

We were very excited to try the best frankfurter schnitzel as we had read about. Unfortunately, we all ordered it and it was a bit disappointing. The appetizer we ordered was great though, a taster plate of all their appetizers, recommended by our server, I wouldn't have been able to compare schnitzel normally, but we did try it in another... German comfort food at its finest, HUGE portions, great apple wine, neighborhood setting and reasonable prices. Couldn't ask for more. About serving size, I had the liver dumpling with mashed potatoes, and the dumpling was the size of a 16" softball. The local couple sitting next to us at our table saw the dish and wished me good luck! My... More

There are three delectable culinary concoctions for which Frankfurt is famous: the local schnitzel, the green sauce and the apple wine. Schreiber-Heyne delivers all three in the most authentic setting possible. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and pleasant clientele. Just writing this review with the aforementioned masterpieces of Frankfurt cuisine in mind makes me want to head there immediately.

Not in the usual tourist area, a bit of a hike from the trendy bars a few blocks away but well worth the walk. Nothing fancy, not too big but great local food, beer and apflewein and filled with locals. Friendly staff, comfy dark wood inside and large picnic style tables outside in a nice Biergarten. Would definitely return!

We have been many times in this cute, authentic restaurant. Very good food, great service and the price is very, very reasonable. I love this place - and it is not for the price

We stayed at the Holiday Inn City South up at Mailänder Straße and were very lucky to stumble over this place by accident. Relaxed atmosphere, affordable good authentic food, yummy Apfelwein and nice people all around. What more can you ask for?

We took the UBahn to the FrankfurtSud station and walked two blocks to eat here. So convenient to find and worlds away from the over-touristed restaurant choices elsewhere. We had the standard priced Schnitzl and it was super. It was quite literally twice the size of a normal one and came with great potato sides. Beer prices were low....2.90 euros... More

Awesome schnitzel! loved it! Didn't hear anyone else speaking English around there either, so it must be for the locals. Very reasonable prices! I'd recommend it to any friends

Great little place just 10 minutes from my hotel. Had the Frankfurter schnitzel and some apfelwein. Service was friendly and prompt. Generous portions and bottomless apple wine. Highly recommended.
