We went to this Traditional fish restaurant as a couple. It is not our first visit and will certainly not be our last. The food, atmosphere and service are excellent. As starters, we had the seafood bouillabaisse and the smoked eel with scrambled eggs on black bread (schwarzbröt). Both were excellently prepared. On offer during this season was steamed Karpen... There are a lot of five-star fishrestaurants in Hamburg (some even with a Michelin-Star) but none of them is sot typically northern-german "Hamburg" . Surprisingly modestly priced lunchdeals.

Fine traditional mainly fish restaurant overlooking the Elbe with views unfortunetly interrupted by some unsightly building. I confess I have never been served up a Plaice the size of this, a sight to behold, it could easily feed 2 plus people cooked with a copious amount of chopped bacon.

The Fischereihafen Restaurant was superb, and hopefully we will return there one of these days. From entering the restaurant you were so treated in such a courteous and friendly manner. When asking to be advised on what we should choose on the menu, you had the feeling that you were not being sold the most expensive plate. Our waiter took... More

...when visiting Hamburg. This place is not to be missed, a classy restaurant with great food - obviously seafood is their specialty - and great service, apart from the nice view of the busy Elbe river. Reservations highly recommended. Try the appetizer platter with 4 or 6 different things on it, but share it, so you can enjoy one of... More

This place you dont find by conincidence. Down in a previously shady part of the harbour area you enter the restaurant by a long staircase, but once there, you are in an old institution in Hamburg. Style, traditions and well being. We had called the same day and only got a table as we asked for an early seating, at... More

Tasty herring for starter. Main course - probably best fried cod in my life. Size of meal perfect. Very friendly and proffesional service.

We ate at this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was crowded but luckily we had made a reservation. Customers were mostly German although we heard some English. There was a large table with a small baby and some children -- obviously, a family dinner. At times, service was slow but we were able to signal to another server... More
