We sat outside at the Deli and it was a really nice athmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. But the food was not as good as I had hoped for but still good.

Loved this spot on the edge of this great shopping area. Grab lunch and sit back. Not so sure about all the smokers sitting outside tho.... Dumped the ashtray.

The restaurant, housed in a renovated former slaughterhouse, is located in a part of the city (das Schanzenviertel) dominated by the 'alternative scene' with a lot of street art, graffiti, special bars and typical restaurants. Tim Mälzer, the owner of the restaurant, enjoys as a TV chef great popularity. Bullerei is appealing to a wide variety of people: next to... More

Tim Maelzer is one of the most popular cooks in Germany, known from TV-shows and his own cooking-TV-Show. Good steaks, experimental food and good German cuisine , prices are ok but not cheap. I recommend early reservations.

Went here due to recommendations from friends - and because it's the restaurant from a German TV cook. Location has a modern, hip decor and the menu is well selected. Service is very friendly, despite the restaurant being completely full. Recommended if you're a meat lover - although they have something for everyone.

There aren't many surprises in the decor for those who have been to Copenhagen or Berlin recently, but the post-industrial hipster charm still got to me. I had the Iberian pork rack and it was the most excellent piece of meat I have had in a long time. Highly recommended!

We stopped over for lunch after walking through the "Schanze". The owner of this restaurant is a famous German chef everyone knows from TV cooking shows which is why we went there in the first place. Location is very nice with comfy outside area if weather permits. Variety is small and simple but quality and preparation of dishes are excellent.... More

We had booked our table almost 2 weeks in advance for dinner with our out-of-town friends. Have to admit, with that scale of demand our expectations were set pretty high. Yet we were very positively surprised. The old bull-barn-turned-restaurant (hence the name Bullerei) offers an array of fish, chicken & beef dishes with delicious eclectic side dishes. Its intriguing, low... More

I was looking forward to my visit and have to admit to being a little disappointed. It is incredibly expensive, but if the food was outstanding then ok, but it was not. I found the tables very cramped. A group in front of us had to climb over the seats to go to the bathroom or the whole row had... More

Great restaurant! Two parts; bistro part with a limited menu of about 5 things but all very good & a more trendy section which is more expensive and would possibly require a reservation!!!! We ate in the bistro section where I had the burger which was extremely filling and all homemade. Our waitress was excellent and we found the atmosphere... More

Description
The BULLEREI in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel was once a cattle market and is visibly stunning. with stylish but comfortable grey couches, 200 year old oak tables and a blue tiled bar. The restaurant is popular with gourmets, the in-crowd and beer drinkers who wax-lyrical about it. The food tastes amazing and prices are reasonable. The meat is cooked to perfection and the side dishes are delicious. The lunch menu offers wonderful meals for vegetarians. The staff are stylish and fashionable. They are cool, friendly and stand out from the crowd in their grey aprons.
