Good but room to improve

I visited this place recently with a memory from 10 years back when I used to be a student. Prices for food is very less and I would say they are successful in satisfying the taste buds. But I am bit disappointed with cleanliness and ambience. Keeping in mind they are offering low prices but playing Inna good volume I would say they must invest on infrastructure. With the room to improve as feedback I wish they act on this.

Delicious Indian Food

I was here for the 4th time and each time I ordered either Chole Bhature or Palak Paneer, which were amazing. This time I went with my aunt, she ordered Chicken Curry and Okra, and I have ordered Mattar Paneer. Okra was very delicious, same as Mango Lassi (drinks), but vegetarian Mattar Paneer I wouldn’t recommend as it wasn’t really a good in taste.

Great food - always crowded

I was meeting a friend after 3 years in Hamburg and we decided to have Indian food for dinner. I was recommended this place and boy oh boy, was it a brilliant choice! Absolutely yes. The food is great, service is amazing and fast, and the price, really cheap when compared to other Indian restaurants around the area. The place is small and can accommodate only a few people at a time. As someone mentioned, if you live in the town, better to take a "to go" and head home and eat. But if you are visiting like we did, better to have some time in hand to get a table!

Terrible Experience

Very very very unfriendly service from the owner to the last employee. And they give a damn if you buy there or not. Went there 3 times. all three times, I had arguement with them and there answer was, dont come if you cannot handle this service.

At first we thought it was closed. It's very inconspicuous from a distance and on a street that you wouldn't want to walk alone at night as a woman. But inside it's buzzing with activity. The food is delicious, super cheap and authentic. The mango lassi is divine. For us, it's a must on our next visit to Hamburg.

Most delicious Indian food.

I have been here for almost 10th time. Especially Sunday lunch will here and Sunday will not complete without Badshah Restaurant lunch. I would highly recommend to taste on of the best Indian food in Hamburg.

Great food at unbeatable price

My boyfriend and I were looking on Tripadvisor for a cheap place to have dinner somewhere near our hotel and this was unexpectedly good for a completely acceptably low price. The tables weren't very clean though, and it felt really cramped, but the food was great!

It is actually something like Indian fast food, but food it just amazing! Tastes like real Indian food, fresh prepared and delicious. Just, be ready to wait in a long queue and to not have a place to sit since it is mostly full.

Tasty Thali. Indian price!

An unassuming place with no name outside one could easily walk past Badshah without noticing. Don’t walk by, go in for a real treat. I went for the vegetarian Thali. For €5 I got dal, vegetable curry, yoghurt, salad, a pile of rice and two naan breads. Great flavours all round, I enjoyed every mouthful and amazing value. Order at the bar and the food arrives in minutes. Cash only. Highly recommended.

Bang for the buck

Had been to this eatery several times. Food is consistent and tasty food. Good assortment of Thali sarting at 5€ and 6.90€ with two curries+rice+Naan and 1€ for a coke or 2€ for a beer. This eatery really beats any Indian restaurant in Hamburg on money and taste.

We tried the Thali .. one mutter paneer and one palak paneer The Thali comes with 1) 1 naan - rating 3/5 2) 1 dal - watery as water - rating 1/5 3) side salad - rating 0.5/5 - the Portion is for birds plus it’s not even proper Indian salad . No onion/ tomato 4) 1 curd / yogurt serving - 1/5 - watery as water . No taste no salt in it either 5) rice - 4/5 well cooked rice 6) 1 sabjee depending on what’s your Thali - mutter paneer / palak paneer / chicken etc etc - this is the only dish in the Thali worth tasting and eating . Others are just for show and most people don’t even touch it - this can be rated 4/5 Cleanliness of restaurant is - 2/5 It’s self service so you order and pay your food at counter and wait for your buzzer to ring .. cleanliness in restaurant is bare minimum so if you are hygiene freak - don’t go here All in all . I can say .. been there .. never going back

Traditional Indian tasty thali at affordable rates! Vegetarian too!

Yummy restaurant combined with a sweet shop. Though quite tightly packed, the endless stream of customers on weekdays or weekends means it is the most loved restaurant. For less than 10 Euros you get a good thali, consisting of Indian bread, a decent portion of rice, together either vegetarian subsi side dish or Non vegetarian. Sumptuous food too! And you have the sweet shop for takeaways. All self service!
