I came to Bremen to visit Family and they recommend it this place. The menu is straight forward and includes 40 different levels of spiciness. I had the buffalo sausage and fries. Level 5 for me with a glass of red wine. It was perfect!!! It was delicious and the best part, very inexpensive. I love this place and I... More

This was not what we expected! The menu looks to have lots of choices for different types of sausages but the only difference is the spice level of the sauce! There was one type of sausage - similar in texture and flavor to a boiled American hot dog. This was covered in a generous amount of flavorful sauce with your... More

For those who love chili peppers, this is the place. Here you can enjoy the traditional german currywurst with a twist: choose among their different types of sausage (try the buffalo sausage, it is incredible) and different sauces with increasing levels of spicy heat. Level 5 has around the same pungency as a Tabasco and levels 8 and 10, that... More

Scharfrichter is one of those restaurants/cafes that could only exist in Germany. It specialises in sausages and in particular the German delicacy of currywurst, where they serve a dozen varieties of ever increasing hotness. Add sausages served in another dozen ways, fries and a good selection of beers and wine and Scharfrichter appeals to everyone. They even have vegetarian and... More

When you are in Germany, you should definitely eat currywurst. In Bremen Scharfrichter is definitely the best place to do that. The game is to pick your scale of curry hotness based on the Richter Scale. 3 was already spicy enough for me and it even goes to 100! Prices are cheap (around 7 euros inc. a drink!), food is... These guys have a good selection of several different types of sausages, which is quite nice even if you don't go for the even greater variety of both sweet and spicy sauces, which I like a lot! They have a good beer selection, and (apparently, as I've never tried it) a fine selection of vodkas as well. I like the... More

An enjoyable concept based on good german sausages and hot, hotter, hottest chili dressings. Scharfrichter combines tradition with hot spiciness and if you are looking for a bite and a mule's kick chili, go there !

They have different types of sausage with a variety of hot sauces (just be careful!). Try them with fries and mayo.
