Highly recommended! I decided to visit this restaurant after reading the reviews. No disappointed. Very easy to find, this restaurant is very charming and the food is absolutely delicious. Beer was served in a nice chilled beer stein, service was excellent. I was a bit nervous that this might just be tourist trap since it it right in the square,... More

Extensive menu, generous size meals and reasonably priced. Nicely decorated inside. This would be a great venue for families. Good section of dishes on the menu.

We stopped in for dinner here at about 2100 around Christmas time after visiting the German markets. We went because it was a trip advisor favorite. Word of warning, finding the door can be tricky. There is a shop which is open during the day but in the evening you can't get into the restaurant that way so you have... More

Managed to get a table here for dinner one night recently. There are several nice looking alcoves where you can dine but I imagine you'd need to book these in advance. The restaurant has many traditional dishes from Northern Germany on the menu, including Labskaus. I opted for Matjes Hausfrauenart, which was soused herring. I enjoyed this very much. The... More

What an amazing restaurant! If you have a small party, and can book early, ask for one of the enclosed booths. They have a few of them along the side of the restaurant that offer a more private experience. Great for a romantic date. We had no reservations and we still got a good table in the main room. We... I have been told if I am in Bremen I have to go to the Ratskeller and try their food. And I wasnt disappointed at all. It is a simple but yet very delicious and unique way of food. The food was cocked to the point and the meat was very tender. The waiter was quick in serving us and... More

We enjoyed our meal here. Waitstaff was friendly. Food was okay. The best part was my husbands potato soup. The pork medallions were tasty but dry. As we were looking around, we kept wondering how many other guests were getting pizza. We couldn't find it on the menu. They also have an indoor area which looked like fun, very authentic.

Just finished a fabulous dinner here! I made reservations on open table a few days before. We were seated right away. Our waiter was attentive and had good recommendations. My daughter asked for peppercorn sauce with her steak (not something they have), and he had the kitchen create something for her. It was really tasty, and her steak was gone... More

The restaurant is located in the cellar of a historic building that was not destroyed in the bombing of WWII. It is worth the experience for that reason. The food is traditional, but uninspired, German fare. It does have a decent selection of German wines.
