The food was ok but way too expensive. We payed 23 euro for 1 schnitzel!! The dessert was tasty but we were already upset so we didnt enjoy it.

Order the special breakfast if you're hungry - one between two is perfect. It comes served on a cake tray / cake stand which is very cool. Enjoy. (Brilliant location too)

We stopped in here for a beer after a walking tour on our first day in Berlin. The cafe is beautiful and convenient to the Brandenburg Gate and train station.

The Apfelstrudel (Apple Cake) with vainille ice cream is delicious. The only handycap is the price, in my opinion it is a little bit expensive.

Good coffee, nice spot for people watching or for a pit stop. Expensive at more than 4 Euros for a cappuccino! Wish I could have tried the strudel!

We visited this cafe for breakfast on our last morning in Berlin. Elegant decor, nice ambience and a decent menu of both sweet and savoury breakfast/brunch choices. Somewhat overpriced however, and service could have been better.

The food was extremely salty the Valletta was extremely Bland. I think this is a great place for drinks and dessert only.

Stopped for a beer based refreshment, found ourselves a seat and was quickly served and drinks taken to the table. Nice, relaxing rest stop. Only fly in the ointment was the difficulty in getting the bill, but seems to be a common problem in Berlin!

We had a business breakfast with a group of managers there and the quality of the food was excellent, next to the very wonderful coffees they serve in all sizes. The interior is very inspiring and unique in Berlin.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
