Short walk from our hotel paid dividends. Good portions and prices and a nice environment to spend the evening with friendly service. Just make sure you've got enough cash; no card payments accepted

Comfortable place with good atmosphere! I liked the plate I ordered but was not special as the chicken curry was far to be the best I had so far, anyway it was nice and different as they added green grapes and tomato...

Nice and cosy place, good food and friendly people. The place was easy to find. Although it was crowded, we could get a Nice Table and the waiting was not too long.

My boyfriend and I visited here on a recent trip to Potsdam. We had originally planned to eat around the corner at good dEATs but were disappointed to find it closed and were then briefly worried that we might not find anywhere nearby that was equally as vegan friendly. Luckily however, right next door, we found Leander and with vegan... More

Quite place to eat and have a drink even late evening. Reasonable price. Next to Ibis Style Berlin Ost. Some tables outside for the warm season.

Staying in the Kiez pension in Friedrichshain for a few days, we were looking for a place to have dinner and decided to go to Leander because of good TA reviews and proximity from the pension. We ate simple but very fresh and tasty food. The staff is very professionnal, not that friendly in the first minutes but as we... More

We found this place by chance and were so glad we did! After all the fast street food we had before we were quite unsatisfied with the quality of German food. But as soon as we tasted this place's food we were so relieved. Absolutely tasty and good sized portion, couldn't eat it all! Menus in English too. Definitely recommend... More

This is a quiet little bar with a nice range of food and drink in the Friedrichshain district of Berlin, yet in a nice quiet sure away from some of the other louder nightspots in the area. Staff were friendly and the food was good. A nice little find for a quiet drink or a time-out!

We discovered this little restaurant one night when we were looking for somewhere to have a drink. We checked out the menu whilst we were there and decided to go back there the following night to eat. There was a lot to choose from on the menu, which was available in English. Lovely candle lit room, not too busy on... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
