We have been to many German restaurants in Berlin and on most occasions were greeted with attitude. Cafe Bleibtreu was totally different. We felt very welcomed and right at home. The menu had something for everyone and was extensive. Their lunch menu is fantastic value for money. If you have a family that all want something different then this is... More

We were desperate get some good snitzel whilst in Berlin & walked past this busy German restaurant twice to have a good look at what the people were eating. It looked great , totally different to British food & the prices were very reasonable so in we went. We ordered the jagersnitzel, pork loins, Snitzel with ham & cheese &... More

This place has been on my list of places to try for ages, because everyone seems to love it here on TA! We made reservations online for 7 pm on a Friday, and when we arrived it was already filling up. The atmosphere was lively, and a party of loud kids in a private room made it even louder. The... Had the farmer's breakfast which was excellent and a cornicopia of food. The eggs potatoes etc was very good and he amount and variety of fruit on the plate was a pleasant surprise and for the first time I even enjoyed honeydew melon, was very sweet.

This unassuming cafe/restaurant does everything well - nothing flash, just good, wholesome food in a great atmosphere- both inside & out - with happy people serving you. Great coffee too... Very refreshing! Go & enjoy

After a couple of great TA finds on our recent trip, we were looking for another good restaurant that was close to where we were staying. Based on TA reviews we gave this a try. The food was just average nothing that our taste buds went wow. The server got our initial order but we had to ask for beverage... More

My friend and I just spent a day in Berlin just looked up a place close to us and that has decent reviews and we ended up at Cafe Bleibtreu. The wait staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. They had English menus available, which was a plus because I don't speak any German. I had the currywurst and it... More

Me and my wife had ordered schnitzel and plus to it one salad. Waitress didn't mention that salads already included together with the schnitzels, so we got three salads at all which we could not eat because it was too much. At the end, when we wanted to pay, we asked the waitress why she didn't mention us not to... More

Me and my fiancée had brunch/very late breakfast here. Chose the brunch buffet for approximately 20€ for two persons. Very good food, good variety in what you could choose from. Good salmon, almost as good as in Norway ;-) Friendly and efficient staff. we definitely recommend having brunch here :-)

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
