I am an American and I have eaten at two different Burgermeister locations in Berlin: one in Kreuzberg and the other one in Prenzlauerberg.
My first experience at this American inspired, Berlin restaurant chain was absolutely atrocious. I am very aware of the cultural differences...between customer service in the hospitalty industry in the United States and Germany (Europe at large). However, I was NOT prepared for the poor customer service I experienced in BOTH locations.
To begin, the cashier at the Kreuzberg location refused to serve me (He was very resistant in giving me a menu to review in addition to his lack of attention to my order when I expressed to him what I wanted to order - in English AND in German as I was with a native speaker at that time).
AFTER he took my order, in an attempt to salvage his poor customer service skills, his demeanor totally changed when he reralized that I was paying with a card instead of cash, which he relayed to me that HE personally prefered.
He then proceeded to THROW the buzzer down on the counter very aggresively and told me to wait until my number was called. Once my order was ready, I asked him very politely despite our previous interaction, in which he was being extremely hostile, if we could sit at one of the tables (This is pre the stronger lockdown regulations in Berlin).
He informed me that I could NOT sit at one of the tables because they were all occupied, which they were NOT. As we attempted to walk to a table that was clearly unassigned to NO ONE, he forcibly walked from behind the counter to tell us that we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant becase they were going to close, which was NOT the case.
This also happened at the Prenzlauerberg location.
I would heavily advise against going to this restaurant if you are in Berlin and yearning for a quality American inspired burger restaurant.
Apart from being a subpar at best restaurant in Berlin, Burgermeister´s food and prices are outrageously overpriced for the quantity and QUALITY they give to consumers.
I would NOT recommend. Go to another burger restaurant in Berlin, there are for sure better alternatives than the trash that is provided at Burgermeister in Kberg and Pberg.More
We came with the idea that it would be the best burger in Berlin... Burgers are nice: soft bread, tasty cheese, good meat. But we cannot say that they are the best in town. The place is packed so you cannot eat on site, the...personal looks smily but they prefer to laught together rather than earing you.More

Burgers were supper tasty! Very easy instructions to follow in the shop regarding Covid also. Have a handy toilet system and table cleaning system also. The burgers were really out of this world and so glad we decided to eat here!
If you’re looking for some good late night food, look no further. The burgers and cheese fries were a great way to top off a fun night on the town. Also, there wasn’t much of a wait, which was also a major plus! Highly recommended!
