First night in Berlin we decided to take our host's advice and go to the 12 Apostles. Swiftly shown to table. Made our choices - four different pizzas and a bottle of wine. All arrived pretty quickly and were delicious and very big indeed. If you enjoyed a starter then, IMHO, one between two would be fine. Bill came to... More

We came here with family and were impressed with the wide selection of food on offer. We enjoyed fresh salads and antipasto ( best artichokes ive had in a while). They also have great pasta dishes. I tried the bolognese and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself had a good atmosphere and large outdoor area. Facilities were clean and... More

I have visited the 12 apostel for the third time in 5 years and the quality and service are still outstanding. Situated under the Subway and very close to the museuminsel is the best spot for more than a Quick bite.

We had a busy day shopping in the inner city - and when we got hungry - this was the most perfect place to stop, to have some authentic Viennese food, wine and music. In this amazing cellar - with history - build around the 11th to the 15th century - possibly one of the oldest wine cellars in Vienna,... More

I needed somewhere for a quick lunch, pleasant surroundings outside. I chose a chicken salad which did not disappoint. Lettuce fresh with a piquant dressing, house red very drinkable, late for my next appointment because I stayed too long.

Close to museum island. Take advantage of their 'business lunch' menu - we had a huge delicious pizza each, but do what the locals do and order one of these to share with a lovely salad. Very reasonably priced and good service. Only slight downside is situation right on a road if you want to sit outside. Otherwise, highly recommended.

The restaurant is an italian-like one, with several menu at a fixed price and a good pizza, probably one of the best in Berlin (they have have a nice wood oven). It's not expensive, close to the Pergamoon museum and the atmpspehere is pretty "unusual". A good choice for a quick lunch or dinner.

This place is a factory in a good meaning of this word. The staff is working like robots, maintaining the tempo in preparing and serving the food, still being able to smile and be friendly - wow, if I were to open a restaurant I would take my staff to Die Zwoelf Apostel for them to see how it's done.... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
