Excellent Food with a great view

If you are looking for a great dinner, excellent dishes and high food quality you should try this restaurant which is located on the last two floor of a high building. You access the restaurant via a glass elevator. After dinner the music volume goes up and the party starts right away

I went with friends to the lounge and order a rose wine, (0.1l = 4 euros). Although pricey, this restaurant/bar has an amazing view and worth to visit. Its a pitty that when I went (on a saturday night), was really crowded and it was hard to find a place to sit. However all of the confusion, it worth and... More

This restaurant was recommended to us rather than the tv tower and I'm glad we went. The views over Berlin are fantastic, just make sure you are happy going up in a glass lift. The staff are very pleasant and the food is good, I would agree with others that it is a bit over priced but worth a visit.... More

Yes it's over priced for drinks & food but the quality of the food was really good. The staff were very helpful and gave insightful recommendation. The views are fantastic especially with snow on the ground. The bar is expensive and one of the cocktails I had was not to my liking but it's no more expensive than any other... More

The bar staff must be very happy for every customer paying with a CC, since they must have to make dozens of trips to the bank just to deposit each nights earnings. Yes. This is a pricey place. BUT, you do get a great view. And they have soft drinks. Sure, €8 soft drinks, but still! Best if visited with... More

The best part about Solar is the view over Berlin. The bar delivers fast, straight forward service but nothing extra. Drinks are good overall, but was lacking "that special touch". Had dinner - food was ok overall, but as we were a quite large group the dinner experience may not be representative for a smaller dinner party. A pretty good... More

Friendly staff, incredible views over Berlin and a lovely chilled out atmosphere. We went on Monday night, had a bit of difficulty finding it and couldn't eat in the restaurant because I was allergic to the majority of food on the menu but the staff were very accommodating. It's a bit pricey but I would definitely recommend it!!

This is not the easiest of places to find in the dark as it's tucked away, back from the street (Stresemannstrasse), but we asked in a shop and were directed round the back to the entrance. We didn't eat in the restaurant, just went for drinks in the bar, which is on the floor above. Not particularly high, but high... More

Great bar for cocktails and a view over Berlin! It is not the cheapest of places (see pictures) but worth the price because of the great view and good music on the background to keep a good vibe We were too early at a nearby restaurant for our table so the waiter suggested we visit this bar as it was... We went to Solar for a works Christmas meal and dancing, we were greeted with sparkling wine when we came out of the lift (I think that's was just for our party) to see the view from here was amazing probably better than the TV Tower really. The place is really nice in side over 3 levels, the second was... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
