We really enjoyed our meal. The food and beer was excellent and the service was friendly and patient with our many questions about the German menu items. Definitely recommend for some traditional German food and drink!

I have been there with my friends and family and 3 year old baby. Nice atmosphere in the open. Sausages and beer were great. I liked it because Berlin doesn't have many places like that and it is family friendly compared to the rest of the European beer gartens. Only minor drawback is toillet charging, but whole Berlin does it... More

Nice place to sit outside and have a beer. They brew their own pilsner and it is quite a good one. There are a range if other beers on offer. Food is served from a food counter such as pretzels and hot dogs. There is a proper sit down retaurant as part of the garden but I did not dine... More

This place has quite a history although nowadays the main focus is on food and drink. Outside seating, weather permitting. German cuisine. Vegetarian dishes available. And, needless to say, lots of beer.

If you have a spare few hours in Berlin (early - mid evening is best) then you seriously can't miss this place. Tucked in behind the Prater theatre (with its massive red sign, thank you; made finding the place a doddle 🙂) you'll find long bright communal tables and benches, a small but perfect choice of beers served from hatches,... A lovely beer garden in the middle of my favourite part of Berlin. They brew their own beers- in my view the dunkel is much nicer than the pils. It's very laid back and so huge that you are likely to be able to get a seat.

Location-wise, this is a lovely beer garden located at the eberswalderstrasse end of kastanienallee that I'd recommend to anyone in the area. The restaurant in the beer garden, while always full, is only a 3 star rating for me as there are many better options for German cuisine in and around Prenzlauerberg. For example, if you want top quality schnitzel,... More

I went at this restaurant for a dinner with friends, even I don't eat meat I found a delicious option for me the Salat Pfifferlinge with special little mushrooms, salad and chevre cheese grilled, so good! Then we shared an apple strudel that was perfect not too sweet, ingredients perfectly dosed. My friends who had meat were very happy too!

Such a lovely beer garden in a central location. Always busy but places are still possible to find. It does seem popular with tourists. It is self-service but overworked waiters clear the table and grumbled when we asked for our many empty glasses to be removed to make room for even more food and drink.
