Small menu but always good quality. This is a casual restaurant, the service is friendly but sometimes it does take a little longer to be served. If you want good Italian food in a more casual and typical Berlin Mitte setting this is the place. During summer there is outside seating which is perfect for people watching while enjoying a... This restaurant was great! It was fairly busy, but the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was AMAZING! I got the basil pesto pasta and my friend got the fig pasta -- we were in heaven!! I also loved the interior design of the restaurant -- it was super cute. Definitely recommend!!

We arrived for lunch at a quarter past midday after a recommendation from the proprietor at Stetson on Münzstraße, Berlin (one of the main shopping zones in the city) to try out Mädchenitaliener on Alte Schönhauser Straße 12. The place was empty other than a very obviously in-love couple. We enquired of our affable server whether we were early for... More

We got a big sidewalk table and had a simple delicious country italian lunch with great wines and antipasto and crusty bread and good pastas.

We arrived Sunday evening very late hoping to get a meal. It was very rainy outside and the kitchen would close in 10 but still we're welcomed in. the staff were very kind and friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We had the best truffle pasta I had ever had and a Parma and tomato spaghetti which was also... More

There is actually no kitchen in this place - they cook everything behind the counter. Therefore, groups of 8 or more have to settle on max. three dishes, and you are served huge bowls. No problem, since the food is excellent. The menu is small, and filled with tasty, excellent Italian cuisine. I have been there several times, and never... More

Went here for a weekday lunch. Busy, good crowd. Delicious pasta!! Our table ordered tagliatelle rustics and fico. Both amazing and creative. Outdoor seating, dog friendly, English speaking. Good service. Definitely worth a visit!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
