I personally like the flavour pallet that Vapiano produces, while it can be slightly undercooked at times (like this time) it's a great experience watching everything happen in front of you. I had the carbonara which is always delicious. The pizzas also are full of good, fresh produce. Personally it's a little expensive for what it is, as I am... More

This was my second visit as I was so impressed the first time...however on returning the Q's were massive and I waited ages. However during this time it made me watch what the staff were doing...looking at the salad selection they were handling raw meat and then mixing salad with no washing of hands...it made me take. They made mistakes... More

My husband asked for gf pizza and was told there was no dough and asked to move to the next counter to order gf pasta. After queuing for 20 minutes at the next counter with people constantly jostling behind us (due to the poor layout of the restaurant tables) when it was our turn the chef told him he was... More

We had a pasta and a salad. The pasta was good but not more than that and also the spaghetti was a little under cooked. My girlfriend had a salad and it was drowning in balsamic, it was not very tasteful. But for a food chain like that we couldn't have asked for more.

This Italian restaurant is amazing by all means. The food is fresh and has heavenly taste. We ordered pastas and salads and we enjoyed all meals. The sitting and the design is very comfortable and we loved the outdoor area. The staff were nice and they speak english. It is near shopping malls and city attractions.

Finally a place with gluten free pasta; at least we thought. After ordering and standing in line for 10 minutes, we were told they were 'out og gluten free pasta, but we have pizza'. Well, we had ordered pasta, and left the place. Will never again eat at a Vapiano!

The self card system seems a tad complicated for no reason. It's fairly easy to use once you get used to it. There is no wait stuff and that might rub some the wrong way. Overall, I liked the food. Ordered pizza it was fresh and created promptly. Would definitely try again.

Thank Ed R

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
