I went with three friends..we had booked a table early in the evening, but despite the restaurant being almost empty we were seated on a table around a corner. This meant it was very hard for the staff to see what we wanted and resulted in the service being over attentive at the beginning of the meal and non existent... More

We ended up in The Brooklyn because I was staying in The Dude with which it is connected. The beef filet was excellent, cooked to perfection. We had insisted that I wanted mine medium rare and that my daughter wanted hers slightly more done. They were both perfect. Just slightly too big for us. Not a bad idea to offer... More

The steak that you will remember for a looooong time. Amazing taste and excellent side-orders completed by a good wine list. Service was very friendly and overall experience very good. I would fly to Berlin again just for this steak :-) Ps. Bring your wallet..this is high-end. But definitively worth it.

My friend had been planning a visit to this place months before we arrived in Berlin. So we ended up here on our first night. Neat place with very friendly and helpful staff. They were very switched on. The price is on the higher end so it was a one off for budget travelers like us. My friend pre-booked the... More

Yesterday we was at the Brooklyn. It is a really nice and cosy place. The food was amazing, high quality and very delicious. Yes it isn't even cheap but good quality never is. In the beginning the waiter was very busy but did a great recommendation. Even the chef himself brought she sides. That was great. We had a nice... More

I like the place very much, the atmosphere were nice and our waiter was so kind. As it is Michelin restaurant, It is a bit expensive but worth to have their meat, it was delicious.

In Berlin for the weekend and fancied a good steak. It was last minute and the grill royale was booked up. This place looked a good alternative and when we arrived the place looked like it was going to live up to expectation. Slightly dated but cool interior and attentive staff. Ordered a well done tenderloin as my wife was... More

Beautiful place, but the price is way too much for what you get, I often eat out and do not mind paying for excellence, but this was average, the steak was cooked well, the fries were ok, and the coleslaw homemade and tasty, I felt it was far too seasoned (salt) and my mouth was burning with the amount of... We are here mostly for convenience as we knew the food would be great due to the Michelin guide recommendation, as promised the steaks were brilliant and service pleasant, the atmosphere is great and a huge selection of whiskeys. The only thing is we wouldn't recommend to friends and family as overpriced in general, paying €50 for a steak €8... More

Fantastic steak, great atmosphere, service ok but very expensive for what it was! Charged €8 a bottle for water with a total bill of €150 for 2 of us (no starters for either of us). The food was lovely, wine servings small but expensive (€11 a glass for my red wine). The layout was a little odd for us as... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
