Clean and smart restaurant with outside tables in a popular area. Waiters wear traditional outfits and the food is Bavarian. Good service. Reasonable food.

This is a Bavarian restaurant in Berlin. We enjoyed really tasty sausage, very good pretzels, and excellent apple strudel. We tried the strudel in several places over the couple of days we were in Berlin, and this was one of the best. Service was in excellent English, fast and attentive. Would recommend this family or couples. Location is really convenient... More

First time at a Bavarian style place and it was worth it. Had a hearty meal of pasta and chicken which I enjoyed

I am usually not that keen on eating at touristy places like Hackescher Markt - but then again I want to try everything Berlin has to offer. :-) On the plus side are definitely the beers! 😏 I had the Vinus which I majorly enjoyed. 👍🏼 The service was really good. Subtle but always present when needed and surprisingly quick.... More

Lovely German food, fast and friendly service. All spoke English so if your German is a bad as ours you won't have problem ordering

We came for dinner in this active area of the city. The tables were clean and the staff pleasant. The food was good but presented in a very simple way. We enjoyed assortments of sausages presented in a simple manner. The Apfel Strudel was hot, really good and in good quantity. We just regret the price, high for such simple... More

The good and beer are generally great. However the service was rather slow and less friendly. Very machine like service buy it takes very Long to get the waitress attention. Not the best Beer House to go in Berlin given the various other options

WOW. In search of 'hearty' German food.. And hearty it was indeed. Went for the combo meal for two - it could easily serve three. Absolutely top notch wholesome German cuisine, sauerkraut en pointe. Definitely recommend for someone in search of national dishes. Waiter was fantastic, friendly and attentive.

We had dinner here one night of our holiday and were drawn to the place because of it's authentic German cuisine. The waiting staff were all dressed in the traditional clothing and there were lots of German dishes on the menu. The food was nice enough but nothing too special and unfortunately the portions were very small. But other than... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
