This wonderful Vietnamese restaurant is off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. It is not smart or trendy - in fact it has a slightly worn look - but the food is outstanding. Nothing on the menu is more than 9 euros (and that is for the main courses). It is well supported by Berliners, who clearly love... More

this restaurant is seemingly known by Berliners for its good Vietnamese food and fair pricing. I enjoyed the food and I have asked the owner to chose for me. Expect to be warmly welcomed by the owner in a rather unique way. the interior is basic, but pleasant.

Very much enjoyed our experience here. Food was prompt, delicious and well presented. I had earlier read about the owner's enthusiasm but didn't tell my friends and they thought his antics were surprising and hilarious, but sincere. The restaurant's location is slightly off the track, but well worth the 10 minute walk from Wittenbergplatz. Highly recommended.

We found this little gem through the trip advisor app. It's about a 10 minute walk from Wittenbergplatz station. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and the interior of the restaurant was very cosy. It felt like we were having dinner at a friend's house. The quality of the food was very good and as everything is freshly prepared... More

I went there because it was nearby my hotel and not because of his ranking. This is maybe not the best Vietnamese ever but this is for sure well above average. Food is good, service is entertaining without being too intrusive. Prices are great. What else do we need? So don't drive across Berlin to go there but if your... More

I am no expert on Vietnamese food but what Sigon offers was good enough for me. The owner seemed to be making far too much effort to match his reputation for friendliness. He most probably did have the very best of intentions but we did find his attention verging on the intrusive.

From reading other reviews I expected this to be a quirky little place with nice food and an entertaining owner, it was exactly that. This owner loves to engage with his customers and will sit down at the table and chat to you before even taking your order. We are both social people and found it very entertaining and pleasant... Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
