Great wine bar! Food was very good and had a beautiful presentation . The Sommelier recommended four different and perfect wines for the dinner. my only complain regards to the fact no one mentionned about the restaurant on the second floor. This would be my first choice when I have read about the place. I thought it was the same... More

My husband and I were visiting Berlin from Canada and chose Rutz Weinbar to celebrate New Years Eve. As is typical with most Berlin establishments on New Years, this was a full evening with a fixed menu including wine pairings and as such, I cannot comment on their a la carte menu. The evening was stretched out over five hours... More

We went to the Wine Bar and were looked after perfectly. They gets lots of things just right and we could not fault the service. Food had strong German influences which is what we were looking for.

Very friendly staff. Had the menu with corresponding wines. It was all good but it didn't wow us. The only thing that wowed us was the bill at the end!

Dined here a week after a second star was awarded. We had a fantastic experience, fine food at its very best. We chose 6 courses from the set menu with accompanying paired wines. Every course was full of flavours that complimented each other. Overall service was second to none and the sommelier was excellent. Highly recommended, we would not hesitate... More

I was exhausted after a full 12 hrs of sightseeing. They were completed booked for holiday parties but kindly agreed to make me some food at the bar since I was famished. I had their sausage appetizer served with cute little accoutrements, spinach and grapefruit salad with buttermilk dressing, and a small cheese plate. Just perfect! And yummy! And they... More

This is the ideal venue to sample some great wines and enjoy exquisite food . The staff were incredibly helpful and their knowledge of the wines extensive . What we particularly appreciated was that when we asked for wine recommendations (without stipulating a price range ) we received 3 amazing wines and were pleasantly surprised when we received the final... (I have to preface this review by stating that while I've eaten at more than my fair share of upscale restaurants in my life, I am at heart a lover of tasty simple foods - I'll take a carne asada burrito from Roberto's in San Diego over a speck of organic free range Chilean sea bass cooked in a solar... The staff are excellent. We were welcomed and looked after brilliantly by all of them throughout. We opted for the 10 course menu with a wine to match each course. The food was presented beautifully and every course was a joy to look at. The quality of the cooking and flavours of each dish were superb. When reading the menu... More

Had the most amazing dinner at Rutz Weinbar with my son on our recent visit to Berlin. Friendly reception, excellent service and the food, all 3 courses, was superb. What impressed me was my wine by the glass that came from a newly opened bottle that remained at the table and was used to refill.

Thank Tevia Z

A michelin star restaurant with Marco Muller one of the best chefs in germany.
From first impressions, our unimposing facade offers little of what lies within. From the moment you step inside, the RUTZ Restaurant opens up like an art gallery delivering a puristic rooms-within-rooms concept, Restaurant and Winebar. Elegant and yet simultaneously harmonious.
The RUTZ Restaurant is located on the first floor. Here you enjoy a modern laid back atmosphere amongst natural materials and an exclusive ambience of high-end hospitality.
Here you will find a perfect combination in every dish of flavor balance and creative inspiration.
Our Head Chef Marco Muller is dedicated to delivering naturally sourced ingredients of only the highest standard and variety. His creative and yet well-balanced cuisine focuses on originality, naturality and aromatics.

A great wine bar with a huge wine list. Our multi-award winning wine list offers over 850 unique bottlings with a primary focus on Riesling and German wines.
On behalf of Michelin Star chef Marco Muller, Head Sommelier, Restaurant Manager and the whole RUTZ Team, we look forward to hosting you soon.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
