If you are looking to impress someone special and don't mind the longer service approach with the modern and trendy setting then go for it! If you have a family and want a genuine good value for money meal then head elsewhere as this is expensive and not what you are looking for! What was disappointing was the lack of... More

We ate in the fine dining restaurant upstairs. There is a brasserie downstairs. The whole experience was superb. We chose the six course menu with wine pairing for each course. The dishes were inventive and well presented, and their sommelier was very knowledgeable. They gave us several amuse-bouche dishes from the restaurant before and during our meal. Another fact is... We went here on the basis of previous reviews and elected to have dinner in the wine bar rather than the Michelin starred restaurant, figuring it would be cheaper. That said, make no mistake, this is not a cheap restaurant. The wine, in particular, is pricey (expect to spend at least 50 Euros on a bottle). However, the overall cost... More

Starters - Blackpudding , liver Sausage Main- both had Ox shoulder Wine - red - 2014 klingenberg spatburgunder- similar to a Pinot noir milder red. Desert - chocolate soufflé. Nice ambience and decor. Very attentive waitress. Huge wine selection! Food was great. Nice restaurant. Recommend. If on a tight budget drop the wine.

We ate here on our last night. The food is excellent and the service impeccable . The wine recommendations were perfect but I would recommend to check the price first. My companions had meat and were all delighted, my sea trout was perfectly cooked. When my starter was not what I expected they changed it quickly which was lovely.

Really classy place, but the bar manager is full of himself and very impolite. If you are looking for a nice spot with a fantastic wine selection pick Lutter & Wegner and you'll be happy to be in a place where the customer is king.

When you get into the restaurant on the first floor your initial reaction is "nice, minimal chic" which normally it is a kind of definition I don't like much. Then the waiter (s) come and his professionalism and politeness makes you at ease. Then after getting the necessary explanation about the different menu opportunities and checked the wine list (... We were looking for a special place to try for dinner in Berlin and were not disappointed. We have eaten at quite a few places similar but I have to say, Rutz really shined. The staff were absolutely lovely and language (barrier) for us was no issue as they all spoke English very well. The decor is simple but lovely... More

Yesterday was the third time I have been to Rutz. I liked it the first time already and I feel my experiences are just getting even better! The restaurant itself is very stylishly designed, with a contemporary feel to it and great mood with the light concept. Downstairs is the wine bar, upstairs the restaurant, my review is about the... A michelin star restaurant with Marco Muller one of the best chefs in germany.
From first impressions, our unimposing facade offers little of what lies within. From the moment you step inside, the RUTZ Restaurant opens up like an art gallery delivering a puristic rooms-within-rooms concept, Restaurant and Winebar. Elegant and yet simultaneously harmonious.
The RUTZ Restaurant is located on the first floor. Here you enjoy a modern laid back atmosphere amongst natural materials and an exclusive ambience of high-end hospitality.
Here you will find a perfect combination in every dish of flavor balance and creative inspiration.
Our Head Chef Marco Muller is dedicated to delivering naturally sourced ingredients of only the highest standard and variety. His creative and yet well-balanced cuisine focuses on originality, naturality and aromatics.

A great wine bar with a huge wine list. Our multi-award winning wine list offers over 850 unique bottlings with a primary focus on Riesling and German wines.
On behalf of Michelin Star chef Marco Muller, Head Sommelier, Restaurant Manager and the whole RUTZ Team, we look forward to hosting you soon.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
