We visited as a family, and two of us had the Schnitzel while two had Venison. The aperitifs, the wine and the service were all excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Recommended by our accomodation, we entered Ottenthal to a friendly greeting and the offer of either German or English menus. Our host suggested with start with the house bubbles, a Prosecco-like wine flavored with Elder flowers. Our entrées were exceptional, the deer pate especially, stood out in flavour and presentation. The Boiled Beef was served simply in a light broth... More

We have through the years visited Ottenthal a couple of times and we always come back for the perfect wienerschnitzel! It is the best we have ever had and the quality has not changed since we visited for the first time 6-7 years ago. The ambience is cozy and the staff could be a bit more attentive. We give 4... Never tasted Wienerschnitzel like this. Wauuvvv what a good quality of meat!! And the liver of veal was just perfect. Service was perfect and lovely wine. We come again next time we come to Berlin.

Friendly staff, but a classical somewhat dry schnitzel as a main course is not my thing. Combined with the not so inspiring interior and slow night, it was a disappointing experience

Nice place, with high quality service. All though we didn't have wine the wine card was quite comprehensive. We all got wienerschnitzel the Austrian way with roasted potatoes. A good meal. Meal plus beer and water, maybe a bit on the expensive side.

This Austrian restaurant in the heart of Berlin felt like home. With tables on the pavement you could feel the cool breeze while sampling original Wiener Schnitzel. The service was fast and polite and the prices were more than fair. Would certainly visit again!

It is five years since I was here last and I decided to try it again. I was pleased to note that not much has changed - this is still a very good restaurant. Very centrally located, close to the Kudamm and the Zoologischer Garten U-Bahn. Tasty and well prepared dishes - obviously the chefs seek to deliver. Staff carefully... More

Restaurant specializing in FRESH Austrian dishes and Austrian wine. We tried the fried chicken and vegetables from summer menu and roast beef from traditional menu. Definitely also try the salad with pumpkin seeds - we split and it was wonderful. Server suggested an Austrian red blend and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend this place and try schnitzel next time!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
