We have tried this restaurant on July. Is a perfect place for couples and family. Very well suited for a quite and delicious dinner. Excellent food, drinks and service.

The staff at Marjellchen are fantastic - so warm and attentive. The décor is old-fashioned and many of the diners were twice our age but it was just what we wanted - traditional German food cooked to perfection. We had the hare in cherry sauce and the wild boar and venison stew. Both were delicious and the best examples of... More

German kitchen has never been considered of being a very sophisticated one in comparison to, for example Italian or French cuisine. This restaurant proves that wrong as they serve some very nice and very cooked traditional German dishes. Highly recommended to everybody that wants to experience real German (preussen) cooking

This restaurant serves traditional and tasty Prussian dishes. Friendly owner, recommended but suggested first to make a reservation.

This was a meal and an experience I will never forget. Do not consider trying to go without a reservation, it is a small place and we saw dozens turned away.We called Friday evening and they told us we could come in an hour and sit at the bar. We were lucky enough to get moved to a table in... More

Four of us were staying locally and visited after reading the TA reviews. Popped in the day prior to visiting and booked a table. Good job we did as on a Monday evening the restaurant quickly filled, with a couple of the tables turning over whilst we were present Unfortunately as we had had a large helping of cake and... More

Truly home style dishes and truly home style portions. This place has it all! We were greeted outside as we arrived 'Guten Abend', and found out that our greeter became our 'ambassador'. This lady speaks several languages and will make you feel very welcome indeed. Our serveuse may indeed be related as she took the same interest, care and professional... More

Last ate here nine years ago. Owner has aged, as have we all. Still a warm welcome, still good beer, still excellent Wiener schnitzel, still good service. The apple dumpling was good, but a touch dry. Nice, homey atmosphere, several families present. Lively ambiance, but not at all noisy. Prices very reasonable. Only those on a shoestring budget will find... More

We came here after reading all the positive reviews, but were quite disappointed. We called the restaurant a week prior to our visit to make a reservation and to check if bringing our children (and a stroller) would be a problem. We have two kids, the youngest age 1, so we usually checks with restaurants in advance. The lady I... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
