Traditional Indian food served by a family run personnel. The food choice is a selection the boss made from a wider menu to serve a better quality to thei guests. Indian beer is served. Prices affordable.Credit cards accepted

Visited on Sunday evening after finishing my marathon. The service was swift, very friendly staff and very close to our hotel. Our family of 4 (incl 2 teenagers), enjoyed onion bhaji and veggie pakoras to start. Both dishes were nice and pleasant. Our mains consisted of 2 chicken curries, chicken tikka kebab and a duck curry. All dishes were excellent,... More

Had to wait over an hour for the food even though restaurant was 3/4 empty. Food quality was average if I am being polite. They gave some excuse that there was a festival yesterday so they were out of stock and everything had to be made fresh, implying usually they don't usually make it fresh...

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. After reading your comments I can make out that you visisted us last Sunday 11th September 2016. I am sorry that you had to wait longer than usual for your food to arrive. We were not making an excuse as there was going on the Folsom Festival in Fuggerstreet (that is the adress... More

We enjoyed our meal, menu had everything you would expect at an Indian restaurant. Family owned with a warm atmosphere. This is a small restaurant so would advise booking ahead. The tables were mainly locals which is always a good sign. If I wanted a curry while in Berlin I would visit again.

I'm a big fan of Indian food, and although Berlin has many such restaurants, they have generally been disappointments. This is not true about Maharadscha. Everything I had was clearly freshly made (which is often not true) and good. Service a bit slow (and food takes time), but very nice

My order for lamb in korma sauce was mistaken for chicken Madras, but quickly and politely replaced - with chicken in korma sauce. More hungry than particular about the choice of meat on this occasion, I finished it. My comment that the lambs in Germany must be quite small and clad in feathers, was met with a fine explanation of... More

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. At first I am happy to read that you enjoyed your food and appreciate our service. I did serve your table and I remember your visit at our restaurant. You are right that you got the Chicken Madras (number 39) instead of your Mutton Shahi Korma (number 29). This was (as I told... More

Location is perfect, a quiet street with a good mix of restaurants and private homes a few blocks away from the high street. Just a short walk from KaDeWe. Traditional Indian restaurant, nice, clean, very friendly and service minded staff. Not too big and not to small, seems to be very popular. Required with reservation. Good selection of dishes. Delicious meals and very kind staff will warrant you a warm evening even if in August Berlin could be cloudy. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is really competitive

Description
We are open every day except of Wednesdays from 1st April 2016 from 17.00 to 23.00 hours. In September 2014 Restaurant Maharadscha has completed 30 years. We want to say a large thank you to all our guests for their faith in us. If you want to experience authentic Indian food you are here at the right address. We serve chicken, lamb, duck, fish and other seafood dishes but we do have a variety for our vegetarian and vegan guests as well. Here you can forget your prejudices against Indian food since you decide whether you want your dish mild, good-seasoned, spicy or very spicy. One of the owners is always at your side to make your visit memorable. Even though we have a large number of dishes, every meal is been prepared freshly after your order is placed. The restaurant is located very central. You can get to Maharadscha in Schoneberg easily in 5-10 minutes from the underground station Wittenbergplatz (Kudamm with KaDeWe). So tourists can easily travel to the restaurants.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
