I am a sushi traditionalist, but I am sure the rolls at Kuchi are OK and somewhat fun, but I'd rather eat straight forward sushi without the crunchy bits and flakes and stuff. But if you stick to the basics, Kuchi is quite nice - though nothing compared to Düsseldorf sushi places, the epicentre of Japanese food in Germany.

I was lucky enough to make a reservation in time on my last evening in Berlin! DEFINITELY make a reservation as this place is very popular. The outside seating (even though we shared a table with another group) is charming, service was efficient and the sushi was very good and fresh.

Been here about 4 or 5 times over the course of a few years. Most recently this week. The ramen is fairly consistent - good. The sake aahhh, so-so. It's possible I've had sushi here but can't remember what it was like, so it's probably not great. Waitresses here generally not the warmest or most eagle eyed. But about competent.... More

We had dinner here last night and the food was very good. This was a recommendation by our hotel conceige for good sushi at a reasonable price. We ordered the sushi/sashimi plate for two and were not able to finish it all. Good fish quality, very efficient service, good ambioance on the outdoor court yard. I don't know Berlin well... More

We expected a lot of this place right next to Cocolo, the amazing RamenHaus. We were told that it has the same owners, not sure if this is true. The rice for our sushi was cold and hard, the fish cut super thin on top of very thick rice. The service was very nice and the reason we did not... More

Great Sushi, good price and cool atmosphere. Tried the Lunch specials. Definetly worth the money. Everything is freshly prepared.

not so nice: when we came in at 19:00 they told us we had to be gone at 21:00 because we booked the table online, very strange and not very welcoming! Sushi: nothing wrong there.

Two words describe the food here: fresh and creative. The salmon melts in your mouth like butter and the udon stimulates all your taste buds. The rolls are unbelievable. The space is really nice. The only criticism is that your orders may take a while to arrive but at the end it's worth it.

Located In the downtown east Berlin, we went for lunch on a cold afternoon. The staff was not very friendly nor very keen on serving us. But we had a blast with the food. It was truly yummy. We had a very tasty SPICY SAKAN KIMCHI SOUP, followed by a DUCK RICE MISO very tasty and filling and finally we... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
