Just fantastic. Great food and cheap drinks. What else could you want? Once more fantastic settings for a great evening. Truly friendly service and quite a selection great cosmonautic treats. Worth a visit, just for the heck of it.

Gagarin is located facing the Wassersturm. It is next to the Rykestrasse Synagogue and by three other restaurants, Masel Topf, Umami and it's real competitor Pasternak, which is next door and has a slightly better location but whose food is not quite as good. The Sunday brunch is good and sitting outside is a pleasure unless it's cold and rainy.... More

I lived in Prenzlauerberg for a while and a must was the Sunday brunch at the Gagarin. Large buffet, good juices and soft drink, it was 12EUR years ago, they might have raised the price, dunno....it would be worth it anyway!

We went there with a friend. First when we arrive, we were standing to be welcoming and the staff just looking at is like fools, just sit directly if you are going there. Staff is unfriendly. The dish of vegetables for 8.50€ it is pretty expensive for the quantity we had, but it was good. Also, I took a bliny... More

We just stopped for a quick dinner with the family - kids 11 and 14 - and were charmed by the nice atmosphere and good service. Interesting and tasty food, good prices!

This is a cool but not only trendy place on a nice square. Many restaurants around, but this is the place where you can have a drink but also something to eat. Laid back atmosphere and nice staff.

The service were bad (2 guys) We ordered 2 coffees and 2 breaskfast, the coffees had too much milk and got cold after 30 minutes waiting for the breakfast (the place were not busy at all). Food were below the average. I don't understand why people call that a breakfast.... It were a bread, butter and a few fruits only!... More

When living in Berlin we would always come here for Sunday bruch, we tried a couple of other places, but no one matche the atmosphere, price and selection at Gagarin. Whenever I am back in the city going to Gagarin is a must. Their bruch offers both breakfast, lunch and cake. Cold and warm meals. There is something for every... More

I had a special tea and a Gagarin salad which was delicious - location is very good, sunny most of the day - they have some snacks and schnitzel (I had Gagarin salad which was made of lettuce, chicken breast, fruits and fried egg) and was delicious - service is a bit poor but polite waitress (you ask for wifi... Perfect for a sunny morning to sit inside or in the terrace. Fresh juices and good flavours. I could add a smile to the waiter but he was quite alright.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
