We passed by this café to get some cake and ice cream. The environment is pleasant and the waitresses were quite overloaded. We asked for waffles, one with bananas and a second with strawberries. After some delay, they brought nice-looking waffles. However, we were disappointed by the heavyweight of the pasta.

Very nice urban Berlin atmosphere We ate the double breakfast. There was a chair for the baby. Very tasty selection of sausages and cheese

During our trip to Berlin, my family chose to visit this cafe twice for our breakfast. Each time, my sister & I shared the amazing meat/cheese/egg continental breakfast platter (can't remember the German name for it - sorry!) which also included a glass of sparkling wine and fresh orange juice. It was delicious, and brilliant value for money. They also... More

We came upon this place by chance the day before yesterday and came in for breakfast. Their 'Berliner breakfast' consists of bread, eggs (scrambled or fried), orange juice and coffee. The bread is very unusual - a cross between croissant and bread and really delicious. The orange juice was small and a bit disappointing therefore but the coffee was very... More

Found this lovely little restaurant on our last day and just around the corner from where we were staying. Coffee is the best I tasted on my stay in Berlin. Had lunch of pasta and my partner had dessert. Huge portions and an extremely large wedge of dessert/cake. Ample seating in and outside. Staff very helpful and lots of choice... More

I went to Berlin with my daughter for a couple of days. She loves tea, so when I spotted the Tee-haus Koch we definitely needed to go inside for a cup of tea and some coffe for me. The menu was extensive, plenty of choice there. The preices were OK-ish, not cheap but not too expensive either. So far so... More

Greeted by a beautiful young lady that recognised by my poor German that I was an English speaker. Our breakfast was beautiful, in particular, the bread rolls were out of this world and I would recommend the Berliner Frühstück to anyone.

Unfortunately I can't agree with all the "very good" and "excellent" reviews. We had 2 hot chocolates and a piece of poppy-seed cake. The chocolate came very thin – even though I especially ordered a strong one i.e. with extra chocolate – and the cake had almost no poppy seeds but mostly a indefinite and not very tasty cream. Service... More

Came here twice for breakfast. Good value for money. Tasty food particularly liked the bread with the egg dishes. Fantastic coffee that you can take away.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
