Nice looking bar, was recommended in a G&T book as a must visit. Unfortunately, it is a bar for smokers. My wife and I left straight away - it was either stink like an ashtray or a nice Gin & Tonic - went back to our hotel and had one there. The bar looked nice and modern but allowing smoking... More

We visited this bar during a trip to see the Christmas markets. Very interesting place; dark and cosy with amazing display of gin bottles, both empty and full! We arrived at opening time (8pm) so had a choice of seats. It filled up quickly so probably a good idea to arrive early unless you don't mind standing up to drink... More

Great Gin bar with a great selection of gins and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Not the cheapest drinks but well worth it if you like a gin & tonic or a gin cocktail. You can also smoke in the bar if you wish.

There were four of us on a Christmas Markets trip to Berlin and one of our number had been advised that this place was in the top ten Gin Houses on Earth - not sure if there are any anywhere else! Lars was very welcoming, very knowledgeable on all things gin and kept in excess of 70 different gins from... More

Only serves gin. Expensive, smoky, dark and a bit busy when we first arrived. I'd go back but I'd be more careful about how many I'd have as they were on the pricey side!

We were five persons, and all of us really enjoyed the visit to this bar. It was possible to talk there, drinks were really good, service was excellent, and we were able to taste several new gins. Highly recommended to anybody enjoying gin based drinks!

Nice collection of gins but 17 EUR for a g&t is a bit too much - even more so since no special preparation is done

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
