Were we in the right place? From the street we first saw an intricately handworked wooden ceiling, from around about 1890. Was this the gourmet french restaurant where we had reserved a table? Once inside, the impression changed entirely. The interior is well-appointed with diverse artworks assembled with exquisite taste. We selected 4 and 5 courses from the monthly menu:... More

Great location for parking, next to the river Spree, with a summer beach. The menu is interesting, but many of the dishes are adventurously overdressed, often detracting (or detracting) from the basics. Service is delightfully friendly but so very s...l...o...w ! waited 20mins. for the bill.....

It is a nice restaurant and the food is good. If you're looking for something really special though, I'd go elsewhere.

For the star I expected more. Food was hit and miss, but never outstanding. Service friendly but not very attentive..Place was nearly empty and lacked atmosphere. I wouldn't go again..

This stylish restaurant with an amazing ceiling from 1902 has a Michelin star and yet it is unpretentious and still reasonably priced. It's located in the middle of nowhere which makes the whole surprise even bigger when you come in. Art on the wall, colourful bulbs hanging from the ceiling, copper... all add up to a perfect setting. You can... More

We enjoyed our wedding anniversery at this restaurant and we will come back, if we have something to celebrate. The ambiance of this historic restaurant is very pleasant. At first we had a glass of champagne (Euro 12) then we chose four courses (Euro 58) from the menue, A bottle of water (E 6,50), a bottle of Meursault (E 68)... More

We were recommended this restaurant via a friend. It is a little out of the way but well worth the trip. It is a lovely space with great art work. The food is excellent, the service friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend

This restaurant has a very classic feel. The food is served fine-dining style, although we had a very long wait between each course, which left us feeling a little hungry by the time we left, despite having 5 courses! Staff are friendly, the wine was tasty but fairly over-priced for the selection. We were a big party and staff assumed... More

The best part of the meal was the magnificent window, followed by the dessert, followed by the service. Food was nothing special and in some cases, subpar--the sole, for example, was way overcooked and lacked any sophistication of flavor (just tasted salty). The egg with black truffle blew my mind in a shockingly bad way, because the truffle didn't taste... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
