Is touristy of course but has a great feel anyway. Huge indoor and outdoor seating areas. Live music, weekends only I belive. Recommend to check it out

We were in Berlin for a day trip and wanted beer, brats and schnitzel for lunch. My daughter is a Munich Oktoberfest veteran and insisted this was the place to go. She was spot on! Food was over the top good and the beer was cold. We thought the service was good and the patio although a bit beat up... More

If you know real German food you will be disappointed by this place. Average food, kind of dried out ...looks like it's been sitting on the kitchen bench all day before served. 2 out of 10. Good beer, friendly service though.

We had a great evening drinking rather heavy big beers. Also, when ordering the meat platter I assumed there would be chips or veg with it but it was a proper plater of just delicious meat. The boiled pork knuckle was impressive too. After finishing my third litre of beer I walked through the beer hall looking for the gents... More

The place is enormous but you get serves quite quickly. Rustic furniture, vault ceiling, live music, beers and local food are what you gonna get.

Get a stein of beer and the pork knuckle! You won't finish the food tho, massive portions! Communal style benches and one night had a traditional Bavarian band

I have been to the Munchen hofbrau and still think to this day it is one of the best pubs I have visited. So for this branch off it was going to take something special to beat it. I was told the Berlin is not like Bavaria for beer houses, but as I love them I needed to give this... More

Our first night in Berlin this is where we went for dinner because we knew our teenagers would enjoy the experience. The music and the atmosphere make it fun for all. Food was good. Our kids will be talking about it for years as it was not only their first night in Berlin but the first time they had the... More

Stopped by for a few beers before heading back to our hotel. Found the beer selection for a beer hall to be lacking. The service was average at the beginning but at the ordering for the second round, the wrong beer was put on the table without eye contact and the waiter walked off before I had a chance to... More

Wanted to try a beer Keller and this seemed like the right place. All had enormous beers and a meal. Food was ok, pork knuckle good, half chicken good, schnitzel not so good. The music was great, we had fun trying to work out what each tune was. People danced and sang. No idea how authentic the place was but... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
