I tried lunch and dinner at Mani restaurant twice (I was staying at the hotel) and I need to say I enjoyed the dinner more than the lunch, both times. They offer excellent dishes and options (and the 15euro 3-course lunch menu is great choice) but I felt that they pay more attention in preparing the dinner courses: at lunch,... More

Maybe its in the four letters.......Mani....Neni (at the 25 hours hotel).....great decor & ambiance with interesting menu and attentive friendly service. Who says that hotels cant operate successful restaurants?.....the contrary is proven by the Mani Hotel in Berlin. An interesting menu with exquisite starters and mains showing Israeli/ Middle Eastern influences. We selected Grilled Aubergine (tomatoes/goat cheese/cumin/thyme/tahini), Beetroot Carpaccio (green... After reading and hearing a lot about this restaurant I was keen to go the extra mile to try it The place is lovely and the service is very helpful...although a little pushy on trying expensive wines We chose to order a couple of small dishes followed by a meat plate to share They initially brought complimentary bread with a... This is a lovely boutique hotel on Torstrasse. The lunch deal for 15 euros for 3 courses is an absolute steal. It's classy but unstuffy. The staff are welcoming &, as it's open plan, you can watch the chefs in action. Things like falafel, couscous, tagines, roasted aubergines etc feature prominently on the menu but also classics like their own... More

Cosy restaurant, food full of flavour, some things are just to spicy, even if you like spicy ;) Grill plate is a must! Meat cooked to perfection.

MANI Restaurant, offers nice dishes but also the vibe on the summer evenings is cool. The small patio is my favourite section.

Mani is a hotel restaurant, but attracts many customers who are not staying at the hotel. It is quite busy and you should try to reserve a couple of days ahead. It is a modern room, but quite comfortable. Service is very helpful and friendly. Their motto is "Paris meets Tel Aviv", and this pretty well describes what you can... More

We were lucky to get seated without reservation on the Friday evening. Comfortable place, music is slightly louder than it should, but everything else is balanced. We ordered: carameluzed carrot, octopus, pumpkin, wonderballs for starter and portobello mushrooms and schnitzel. All food was brought fast, well decorated and tasted superb. Service deserves special compliment. One of the best service experience... More

We stayed at this hotel, and gave the business lunch (€15/3 courses per person) a try. The hour wan't too late but they were already out of the lunch soup ;-) so we got a replacement soup. Fish over vegetables was superb, and so were the desserts. The wine was Okayish, not a good match to the food in my... More

The innovative, elegant style of the MANI Restaurant is setting new trends on the Berlin eatery scene. Head chef Octavio Bravo serves up French cuisine, experimenting with Eastern Mediterranean ingredients. The best way of getting to know the menu is to order a mixed selection of starters ('chuzpeles'), placed in the centre of the table like tapas. Appetizers like Calamaretti with quail egg and harissa mayonnaise or cauliflower with salted lemon, garlic butter and almond are peculiar but encourage the desire to discover the culinary range on offer. Dark furniture, restrained lighting, an open kitchen and a fireplace carved in green marble emphasize the elegance of the restaurant. Photographs of the MANI team by Oliver Rath grace the walls. Seating is available outside in the peaceful courtyard, weather permitting, and anyone wanting to watch the denizens of the Torstrasse scene can sit outside on the terrace. The MANI Restaurant celebrated the award of 'Scene restaurant 2012' in September 2012.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
