Great Berlin home cooking. We had the calf liver the first day. On the second day the liver cheese and on the third day the Königsberger Klopse. This was all very tasty and also very large portions at reasonable prices unusual today. The good soul of the house is Olli, who was always on Zack and with her warm Berlin way provided a super service where you always felt in good hands and very comfortable. The draft beer is also highly recommended. We would love to come back next time

Wilhelm Hoeck 1892 is a traditional old pub and restaurant that offer's a brilliant range of food and drinks and its located in a very lively area of Berlin. Located on Wilmersdorfer StraĂźe'this is an excellent old world pub and restaurant me and my twin brother went to on our six day holiday in Berlin. Established in 1892'this pub and restaurant has a traditional old world look and feel. Its got bags of charm with excellent old world fixtures and features and many interesting items throughout the whole interior and its got superb seating options. Of all the place's we went around this area of Berlin this was the stand-out place as its everything I like about old world pub's and restaurant's.We went here in the afternoon and it was extremely busy.We took our seat and had a few Schultheiss beers that were superb and well priced. It's a brilliant old world pub and restaurant that's located in an excellent area of Berlin and well worth a visit.(This is my first review of Wilhelm Hoeck 1892). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-12.00-01.00. Sunday-14.00-00.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. U Richard-Wagner-Platz Bus Stop-M45. U-Bahn Stop. Richard-Wagner-Platz U-Bahn Stop-U7.

Always full, you should reserve a table or get lucky. Service is super friendly, obliging and fun, typical Berlin style. Food is so-so, probably depends on the chef's mood that day. Drinks like in a Berlin pub. Unfortunately no Bommelunder or Doornkat, but they do have Mampe. High noise level. But that's how it has to be.

We didn’t read reviews before going otherwise we wouldve skipped it. The food was descent. Really nothing special. Schnitzel was overpriced and my cabbage roll was cold in the center. We didn’t complain. Our beers were cold and delicious, as typical in Germany. The locals were not happy with us being there, looking over at us and laughing in German. When we asked for the check and we took out our credit card the waitress yelled at us they only take cash and then went to the bar side of the establishment and came back with a card reader anyway. Very weird experience.

My girlfriend who is German made a reservation by phone for dinner at 7:00 p.m.: I saw it. We arrived on time, and they told us that we were not in the book and we did not have a table. We had to wait standing in front of everyone until a table was available, which, by the way, was very good. The restaurant is reputed to be one of the oldest in Berlin (it only dates back to 1852) and, although most of the menu is meat-based, I ordered fish. It was a success, because on the same sidewalk is the largest fishmonger in Berlin. It was the most delicious dish I've had in a long time. It was the "matjes" fish, young herring salted Dutch style. Both the raw material and the accompaniment, a potato salad and a very abundant sauce, were delicious. On the other hand, the dessert was disappointing. I ordered what they told me were jellied fruits. A bowl arrived with the fruits in a little juice that had stopped being jelly hours ago. I attach a photo. But it is worth going there just to take the "matjes".

We took a taxi from Friedrichshain (35 min) only for eating here - and well worth the trip. Wilhelm Hoeck is a good break from trendy Berlin. It seemed to be only locals in the place (exept us), adding to the autentic feel. Don't go here if you expect Michelin-star food, but the food was good (and cheap), the service was decent and the atmosphere calm. A very good "Berliner kneipe" experience! PS! The place has a restaurant and a pub. You can eat in both, but the pub is the preferred if you want the autentic feel.

This is a true gem of a find. Original interior of an authentic german pub. The lady who was run off her feet (other staff member was ill) when we visted, went out of her way to accomodate us which was extremely nice of her. If you get the chance reserve before going as it was very busy on both nights we went. We had the schnitzel on the first night and went again 2 days later and had the Leberkase, both excellent examples of german food. Beer was also good from the barrel and we drank more than we should have. Highly recommended

On any holiday I take to this fascinating city there's one pub I know I'm going to visit and it's Wilhelm Hoeck 1892 ,been here many times over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. A great pub,one of the oldest in Berlin, interior is superb, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a very cold December afternoon but the pub was warm as was the welcome from the bar team,we ordered beers from Berliner Kindle-Schultheiss Brauerei ( Schultheiss beer ), these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while we sipped our beers. A big fan of this most famous of Berlin beers ,its golden in colour, a crisp, well balanced lager style beer, hoppy, bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother ,best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in this very historic locals pub before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Wilhelm Hoeck 1892 we had a great time. Wilhelm Howck 1892 is easy to locate along WilmersdorferstraĂźe. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till 1am. A great pub,one I highly recommend you seek out if you're in the wonderful Charlottenburg district of Berlin.

We were extremely disappointed in our experience dining here. We came on a Monday night so the bar and restaurant were not busy. The bar area is large with a number of tables and contain historic festive decor so we asked to sit in the bar. Even though only one of the tables was occupied we were told there were no tables available in the bar. We were told we had to sit the dining room which was also nearly empty and certainly lacked the atmosphere and decor of the bar. Our server, an older woman was very rude and short with us. As I was ordering my dinner she coughed without covering her mouth. The food was just ok. At the conclusion of our dinner she reminded us three times that gratuity was not included. When we left we walked though the bar and still found it nearly empty. A couple of the tables were now occupied with people who appeared to be locals. Therefore we assumed the bar area was reserved for "locals'. We were definitely given the impression that since we were Americans we were not welcome there even though we were gracious and polite. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

We were there yesterday. The place itself is very nice. A really nice old German inn. I had the daily menu, veal liver with apple-onion rings and mashed potatoes. This one was also very delicious. Unfortunately, the waiter was very bad. He was unfriendly and overwhelmed with guests. You actually wanted to leave right away. He only accepted orders after being approached several times. He was eating something all the time and complaining inside himself. In addition, we were served by a very nice lady who tried his crap pull-out bar. In the end, there was a spinner in our bill, whereupon he yelled at you really aggressively, 'if there's a dime left here it pops right'. So again you don't need something like that, we just wanted to spend a cozy day there. In addition, we were transported to a different corner than had been agreed. It was absolutely narrow and not suitable for older people with the step. One almost fell. To this the event were very much you laid together, just finished eating the next troupe wanted to our corner. I had my chihuahua with me , the waiter called it a rat and said he probably stepped up there. All in all a bad local. It got a star from me for the food and a star for the dear service person who tried to make everything at least a bit pleasant. Not recommended!!!!

Although the food menu is not to our taste, the place has character oozing from it and its clientele who clearly love the food on offer. I spent a pleasant hour or two in there on four consecutive afternoons. The staff are proficient and (I think) really good at making your visit enjoyable without any fuss... Clearly locals use this place on a regular basis... Kate who is not really a drinker also enjoyed her visits and the atmosphere the place self generates... Enjoy your visit (s) as I did Alan & Kate

By chance we discovered the special Gasthaus Hoeck in beautiful Charlottenburg. It was love at first sight. Whether it was the pork knuckle or the Königsberger Klopse - it tasted excellent and the portion was XXL. We drank a delicious beer with it. A well-rounded experience with the very best reviews. Service was very attentive and friendly. You wouldn't believe that something like this still exists. NOW GET THERE.

Was there for the second time, this time with my wife. The 1. 4 weeks ago with friends: a young lady who was supposed to serve the whole restaurant made her effort despite stress and too many guests and a dry half duck. The 2. Visiting with my wife was a fiasco, a disaster: never experienced anything like this. Again full, two large tables with loud and drunk men (yes a restaurant, no pub) and only ONE male employee who was so overwhelmed that we both doubted whether we were dealing with an alcoholic or a coleric or both. He kicked us out because we approached him about his nice and cheerful (say agro) approach. As I said: never experienced this before. There was no boss present, otherwise he would have been kicked out and not us. Or maybe he was the boss. At least don't touch him when he's on duty. Simply let us know in advance if the lady is present if you want to reserve there.

The visit was with dear friends who happen to live in Berlin. The establishment is a combined Restaurant and Bar (Knipe). The waitresses were fantastically friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening. The food was typical Berliner cuisine. I dines on the Köingsberger Klopse with boiled potatoes and red beets. It was delicious. We will visit this place again on our next visit to Berlin.

terrible food, unpleasant smell inside the restaurant, lack of staff and crazy waiting times. Potatoes that taste like bubble bath and fish that taste like cat food…. VERY DISAPPOINTING
