Lovely Italian food, very fresh, very nice. However, our evening was taken up by dealing with flies. It was constant, about two-six flies would be flying above your food, in front of your face at a time. I complained and they said it's the time of year. But I've eaten in 7 other places in Berlin this week and maybe... More

Our dinner at Centolire was amazing, from the wonderful food to the staff and the atmosphere. Everything about this place is true fine Italian. I can especially recommend the fish antipasti and don't skip desserts. The orange pana cotta was amazing.

Let's get this straight right away... Moreno can straight up cook! Everything he touches, from the steak (USDA Prime!) to the Tuna (perfectly seared) to the dishes with truffles (YUM!) are just wonderfully presented and absolutely delicious. Add to that the welcoming warmth of the man, and the top quality service, and you have a restaurant not to be missed... More

I stayed at the nearby NH Berlin Mitte and ate at this restaurant 3 out of the 4 night of mine and my mum's stay in Berlin. The restaurant is understated but welcoming with menus on blackboards brought to the table side. Italian staff were friendly and genuine and conversed in a mix of German (which I speak fluently), English... More

If you're looking for authentic Italian food served byItalians, you should try Centolire, near the Berlin Mall. The food was delicious and the people very warm and friendly. English was no problem. We went 3 times! Highly recommended.

This restaurant was close to our hotel, whenever we passed it looked rather dim inside but we decided to give it a chance anyway. We were not disappointed. Great food, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. The waitress was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere very pleasant. The only downside; the restaurant does take credit cards though this is not readily... More

By far the best place you can go to around Potsdamer Platz / Friedrichstrasse: Centolire serves very reasonably priced legendary italian food. You have to try the spaghetti vongole and the antipasti - outstanding. I try to go there as much as possible and count myself lucky to work around the corner. Moreno's a lovely guy who serves mouthwatering italian... More

Visited Centolire (is it really a Pizzeria ???) for the first time after they moved in a bigger place in the same area. I would call it "tradional-modern" - tradional because of the red/whie table cloth and wodden table, modern because of the big open kitchen. Wide selection of italian wine; interesting daily menue, but you also can calculate around... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
