The food was quite ok, but the vicious waiter just walked out of bad movie and was very rude! Food within 5 minutes when ordered, drinks in 35 minutes when ordered, no desserts but the waiter told us after 40 minutes when will waiting on the desserts. The bill was incorrect and asking the 'manager' for this he showed us... More

Attractive riverside bar that is not too noisy or busy. Liked the dark and traditional decor and the beer. Had a pianist the night we were there.

I have visited Berlin many times but only discovered this gem on my last visit!! Great atmosphere, great location and amazing cocktails!! We were acquainted by a lady called Lola. Her service was exemplary, friendly with a warm and gracious presence. She made the effort for us, got involved with our banter and ultimately got us on a happy drunk!... More

Nice location but service is not adequate (only one waiter for a lot of costumers on festive days). The coffees arrived at least 10 minutes before the slices of cake, so we had to drink the beverage and after finishing it the cakes arrived at the table. This is not acceptable, also beacuse the price, in particular of cakes, is... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
