The night before leaving Berlin we fanzied some take out, so I bought some from this spot just around the corner from our hotel. Even though it was nearing dinner time, the reastaurant was empty, so I feared that the food might be bad or something like that. However it proved to be some of the most delicious indian food... The first thing that struck us (we where a family of four - kids aged 12 and 14) was the noise. The extremely loud noise. Hard to cary a conversation and on the wrong side of annoying. The second was the waiting time. It took far too long before we got to order - or order drinks. The third was... More

We ate here this week whilst on a family holiday in Berlin. Walking in off the street we were warmly greeted, offered a choice of tables and received excellent service. The food was tasty, plentiful and served promptly. When next in Berlin we will certainly call again and recommend to friends.

We ordered samosas and tandoori. The samosas were good but a bit smaller than usual. The tandoori chicken was very delicious!

I ate at this restaurant a year ago and food was excellent. But now a year later it was just another so so indian restaurant. Dishes were too mild. Meat was not tender. We had good meat at Kebir. But it was nothing special and I probably will not go there again.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Berlin and i have been a regular since 2010 when i first accidentally found it. Everything here is prepared using fresh ingredient, they do not use canned food and hence the original 'home like' taste. Do not forget to try their Samosa, Blumenkohl deep fried pakoras. Shahi paneer and malai kofta is a... More

We searched for a nearby Indian restaurant and hit Kabir. Very big surprise: clean, quiet location and very very tasty food and great hospitality. Highly recommended!!!

This is a small place on Carmerstrasse billed as Ayurvedische, which I believe is an Indian holistic healing/medical/dietary system. What that has to do with the extraordinary food served here I don’t know, but it has to be beneficial. The place is small and fills up, so don’t assume you can walk in without a reservation. They serve a few... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
