I'm Greek, so I've very picky with what is considered to be "Greek food". Visited this place in August. I ordered the oven baked chicken and it was AMAZING! I still crave it to this day and can't wait to return to Berlin to eat it again! Menu was very authentic and so was the food. Complimentary Ouzo shots are... More

We made the long journey to Prenzlauer Berg after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor, and we had a brilliant evening! The menu is extensive – and typically Greek. The dishes we ordered were all absolutely delicious. The setting is modern and comfortable. The waiters are extremely friendly, and kept topping up our complimentary ouzo glasses, even when they... I stopped here for one beer with a friend but was overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. The waiters kept bringing little treats such as candies, small desserts and shots despite our modest expenditure. At the end the waiter thanked us and made a point of shaking hands. It was our last night in Berlin and I was sorry... More

Love this place as it has a great mix of party atmosphere (sit downstairs and you'll feel like you're at a Greek wedding reception, complete with a continuous supply free ouzo) and lovely grilled meats (sit upstairs if you want a more relaxed setting - you'll still get the continuos supply of free ouzo). Our food was very good and... More

Right in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin, the food is very good and quite cheap. The staff is incredibly welcoming and generous. Would definitely go there again!

Asteria was perhaps my most disappointing restaurant which I have ever been to in Berlin. When I went it was ranked 52 out of 6451 restaurants in Berlin. I ordered souvlaki. I was in Meteora, Greece in May and had the most amazing Souvlaki. It was so good I had my only 2 meals at that restaurant. At Asteria, I... More

We went on a busy Saturday night without reservations. Since it was only two of us, we were able to get a table anyway. We ordered the vegetarian appetizer for 2 as our meal, and ended up packing part of it up because we couldn't finish all of it. Wait staff is generous with the Ouzo!

After being told about the amazing Greek Food here and seeing some delicious Octopus photos on their website my mouth was watering and I was so excited to have my first Greek dish in Berlin. We went for a work outing with a pretty large group. My dreams were crushed when they told me that the didn't have Octopus. I... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
