Having read the reviews we dined here looking forward to German cuisine. Although food not bad I was disappointed as previous reviews put this in the top 100 in Berlin. Berlin is better than this.

This small restaurant offers typical German food. We both had the duck, which our waiter recommended to us. It was served with red cabbage and dumplings. I really enjoyed my meal but my partner did not, unfortunately.

Authentic German food, reasonable price and excellent service made for an experience I'd repeat. Within walking distance of the town centre and easy to find on the Friedrichestrasse 👍

We had dinner at this restaurant which is just over the river bridge on the Spree. I had pike with creamed vegetables and potatoes and my wife had salmon fillet with a wild garlic sauce, vegetables and creamed potatoes. We had pilsner & a Weisse with woodruff (Berlin speciality) on arriving and a nice Reisling to accompany the meal. Very tasty, very reasonable, low key, friendly restaurant right by the Friedrichstrasse Palast. So good we ate there twice!

Visited this restaurant on our second night in Berlin (advise booking for a sat night as we were unable to get a table the previous night which was a sat). Food was delicious - I had the post knuckle and my partner had the duck which we both thoroughly enjoyed- and service was friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you... More

We arrived in Berlin and this restaurant was on our list, as well as near our hotel, so having checked in and left our bags we read here for some lunch before an afternoon of sightseeing. There is traditional German (and Berlin) food on the menu, but not exclusively and the service is friendly. I found the food to be... More

Came here after reading some of the reviews but have to say they don't do it justice. Amazing beef roulade and service was honestly one of the best we have ever had. Peter was warm friendly and very charming. He even advised us on a good bar to go after for a Sunday night drink. If you go to Berlin... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
