I was walking in Berlin looking for somewhere to sit and have breakfast and I arrived in this nice and cozy place. The guys are really nice and always smiling, there's a German and and English menu and they offer different and tasty thing. I had an hot drink with apple and it was amazing! Besides I ordered some bread... More

This is a typical trendy Berlin place, open for food all day but closed at dinner time. It serves German breakfast dishes: eggs, cheeses, hams, the very best bread, butter and jam. Also dishes such as noodles with goulash, veal sausages, soups and salads and freshly made pretzels. Cheesecake, chocolate cake and fruit tarts are all delicious. It is not... More

Good food, happy service though the self-service line is always a pain. Things I would recommend are the scrambled eggs; the yoghurt and fruit; and definitely the Bircher muesli. The café is on the sunny side of the street and is a great place for a Sunday morning breakfast or brunch, very popular with the locals. :-)

Such a nice little terrace in a gorgeous street. I had the Strammer Max which is basically two sunny side eggs on some smoked ham on some sourdough bread. Very tasty and affordable, I enjoyed it very much. Staff was friendly but service was bit slow (drinks came 10 minutes after the food had been delivered). Would definitely come back... More

We chose Engleberg for breakfast because it was recommended by a top Berlin food blogger (Berlinfoodstories.com). We weren't disappointed. We arrived there at 10ish on a Saturday morning and it was already packed with locals. There are also seats outside on the pavement but it was quite chilly the day we were there so everyone was inside. Breakfast choices include... More

This cosy place is perfect for a brunch, whether outside to enjoy the sun or inside next to the dessert bar. The scrambled eggs with goat cheese and speck are very good!

They have a good selection of day-time meals (closed at night!) with great stuff to choose from Definitely "superior quality food"! But equally so very expensive...

Im a chef and would highly recommend this cafe. Its a sweet place on a great road, which also has cool coffee shops on it. We had bacon and eggs, the bacon was so nice and extra smokey! And the continental with meat and cheese which you could pick from the deli they have. Such a cool place

I had a late brunch here with 2 friends on a sunny September Sunday. Two of us had the Schlemmer breakfast, which was egg and ham on sourdough bread - delicious, but perhaps a little too much meat which made it salty! Our friend had the spaetzle, which were delicious and we all had to fight the urge to eat... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
