We dropped into here for a coffee as we were in this part of town visiting some of the Irish pub's in this area. On a beautiful hot afternoon we were very lucky to get a table outside were a very pleasant member of staff took our order of a couple of refreshing cappuccinos with whipped cream. After a short... Near our hotel so stopped in for breakfast. Breakfast was good, delicious meats and cheese, good quantity. Nice coffee. Service was intermittent.

Poor service. We couldn't attract the waitress's attention and when we did she promptly forgot to get our drinks, instead choosing to serve a group of German customers before us. The attitude of the staff was one one where they couldn't care less, and their tone was unpleasant and rude. There are much better places nearby where there is very... More

My sister and I went there to have breakfast. Not only the restaurant was understaffed but the waitress who was unfriendly when we first got in, but she also left us wait at the uncleared table for 15 min and she later went to take the order from a couple who got in after we did.

Both meals were brilliant, very nice and good portion sizes. Nice to sit by the river too, decent views. Friendly service.

Staying at a hotel in Mitte and looking for reasonably priced breakfasts, this place filled the bill. Delicious bread askers and cold cuts on morning, Swiss cereal and croissant the next and we the. Went back for another round. Reaonably priced with good service.

We enjoyed the typical Berliner currywurst and the traditional flammkuchen here. Sure you can choose from the extensive carte but we went for something local accompanied by a weissbier. Service is a bit slow though, but ever so friendly. Good value for money, with a nice view over the river - when the sun is out of course. Certainly worth... More

Really pleasant cafe and restaurant that my wife and I frequented for our breakfasts during our short break. My wife is Coeliac and it was a delight to find a menu that catered for her diet in a city that doesn't have that many options for gluten free. Delicious breakfasts, especially the Viennese one , although too much for me... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
