We had just a blast when we arrived to Zur Rose : the decoration is absolutely lovely, right from a Derrick episode! Everything is really well-thought, the sofas are comfy and the breakfasts are yummy. We took the big one, it was really tasty and filling! We could stay there forerver, just chatting in this 70s atmosphere!

Went here twice during our stay in Berlin. Lovely atmosphere, great service, tasty food, nice atmosphere - and gigantic portions. You'll not leave this place hungry.

Spatzle, currywurst - very good, liked the potato soup less. English spoken waiter. In good weather sitting outside.

This was a small restaurant just a stone's throw away from our hotel. We visited this with the whole family (two adults, two kids; ages 11 and 8). The atmosphere was nice, the place looked like it was pulled from the 60s/70s with old furniture and wallpapers. The service was very warm and fast; the waitress was quick to help... More

We have eaten well here several times over the years. This wasn't the best visit. Lovely cafe & friendly staff. Ordered an English Breakfast for a hangover cure. It came with 3 fried eggs but they were basically cremated. Over crispy on the bottom & the yolks were solid brick hard. Food in here is usually much better but this... More

Great little restaurant if you're visiting the city. Traditional food was great (we had sausages, schnitzel, feta salad - all eaten in minutes!), lovely cosy atmosphere and had the dry red German wine which was delicious. The staff were perfect and really tourist-friendly - definitely recommend

A place to bring you instantly in the 'love peace freedom' environment of hope and innocence that we are old enough to remember from the '70s, whilst you will be enjoying a glass of red wine and traditional german specialities. We had delicious traditional berliner kartoffelsuppe with sausage, also homemade spaetzle, meatballs in white sauce, and schniezel. All dishes where... More

We took the lunch menu with main course and salad or desert. Everything was tasty and the service was really nice. The place is small and cosy with relaxing music. The price is ok.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
