Came following trip-advisor recommendation and was very happy. Good food. Good beer. Nice design That make the place look like old-aunt-frizzi's house. Sure worth the time if you are around.

Small and cozy, but very old, worn out and dirty. Not even mentioning the toilet. English menus and service was a nice plus. The waitress messed up our billing and gave us a bill for way more we ever had. Then it took her about 15 minutes to figure it all out. She accidentally gave our much cheaper bill to... More

Place is like walking into a living room of a German family from 1952 - except with great contemporary alternative music. The German food (spaetzel, schnitzel, potato soup with sausages and beer) was really good. Not crowded. We stayed a long time and got zero attitude. Staff really friendly. Highly recommend.

Ok... I am not German or even German decent. But I thought the Spatzle dish was really really good! Someone else at our table had the omelette and it was very well prepared. Great table seating on the side walk, very warm and eclectic interior decor. Our server was lovely young woman (spoke perfect English... Yeah!) and I would definitely... More

Ate here with my friends. Service was good and the staff very friendly. I had the Veal Schnitzel and it was very enjoyable. Beer good. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We have visited Berlin very often and have seen a lot of nice places but this was the worst place ever. The place was not full at all. There were only two others inside who already had finished their dish and a couple of people outside but we had to wait an hour before the food finally arrived. It was... More

I was here for dinner and the good was good, quite German when when looking at the limited amount of veggies served wen the mains and the amount of sauce and dressing on the (separate ordered) side salad. The value for money is however a bit of of balance for this steak. The rest of menu seemed to be priced... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
