Dropped in for lunch with gf and friends. Reasonably priced, and decent, but not spectacular food. Italian plate for two was more than ok, and the pancakes were worth a visit alone. Friendly staff who accepted my broken German. The house cat came and claimed the sofa my friend was sitting on. Very nice.

Once a year my friends and I travel to Berlin, and every singel morning we have breakfast at Blaus Band (which we upon 'til recently believed had another name, but thats another story). It's only one time, when we had a table inside, that the service was a little slow, and one time the coffee tasted a little odd, but... More

Great service. Very relaxing. Free wifi. Not many options for lunch and dinner but great food. Specializes in breakfast starting at 9:30 every day.

Spaetzl looked good indeed. But salads, sandwiches are a rip off. For example, chicken salad had 4 small pieces of very average quality chicken... And a ton of salad to make the salad look bigger... For 10€!! There are many better places around for 5-7€ with better quality.

Stopped by thinking it would be a nice meal outside this adorable cafe, but both waiter/waitress who helped us had the WORST attitudes. They were very rude to us (eye rolling, loud sighs, curt service) when we asked to sit outside, and when asking for clarification of menu items. The food was pretty good, but the experience definitely left a... More

I had Canadian pancakes with blueberries for breakfast and they were absolutely the best. Also liked how they served it. It looked (and tasted) delicious. Lovely place near Alexanderplatz but in a nice and quiet area.

Nice place to visit with friends. Calm atmosphere, long period of opening hours, good food and lots of options. Prices are accesible, though not cheap. Vegetarian options.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
