We had the signature menu which was superb and certainly tested our taste buds to the limit. The service was excellent and the waiters very knowledgable about each of the dishes. It was nice that Tim found the time to come and speak with us about his dishes. The ambience of this Michelin rated restaurant is very pleasant. Certainly not... More

I have had the pleasure of dining at Tim Raue on 2 occasions, simply the best ever. There were 8 and 10 of us, on each occasion we asked the Chef to design a meal for us.. One word... magnificent!! We were asked if we would like to select our own wine or follow the restaurant selection, we allowed the... More

The lunch menu was affordable and did not disappoint, beautiful food packed with flavour. Stand out dishes were the Wasabi Langoustine and the Peking Duck interpretation. It was a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere in the restaurant - will go back when next in Berlin!

We were excited for the food, but we were pleasantly surprised with the ambience and Asian decor for a Michelin-rated restaurant. It was very relaxed, unpretentious, and airy. The service was wonderful and we would recommend one of their dry Rieslings to pair with the dishes.

but the outcome was not so good as I imagined. Too small dishes, not so tasty, I am used to other degustations. It was not worth the value, even though it was not high. Service is perfect.

Regarded as #34 in the world, Tim Raue has high expectations to live up to. And for the most part - it delivers what is expected. Quality produce, attentive and helpful staff, culinary inspiration. We popped in to try their lunch menu which works a little differently to a typical Australian banquet menu. As an example, if you opt for... More

Our dinner at Tim Raue is one that we will remember for the rest of our lives, or at least till we visit again. The staff are completely delightful, welcoming and unpretentious. The space is airy, peaceful and beautifully appointed. I especially loved the large painting (I won't spoil it by telling you what it depicts). We had the 4... More

As a treat for our last night we had the 8 course tasting menu with matching wines, the food, wine and service were all great - the pork knuckle was amazing! Restaurant was unpretentious and cosy. Not a cheap place though!!

I loved my dining experience at Tim Raue. The staff was friendly. The space was simple, modern, and held some fun pieces of whimsical art. Most importantly though, the food was brillantly executed. All the dishes were Western ingredients with wonderful Asian flavors elegantly infused. This restaurant definitely deserves its two Michelin stars, and I would highly recommend it. My... More

The food was sublime. Every dish was creative, surprising and delicious. I thought it's good value for money considering how much a restaurant of the same calibre would cost elsewhere. My favourite dish was the suckling pig. I really wish I had gone for the 6 course menu but it would've been too much. A hidden surprise was the delicious... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
