As others have previously said, this is good Currywurst and a nice, quick and cheap meal. I was staying nearby and popped here for some dinner, it was 4.40 euros for the sausage and fries along with the sauce and some mayo. There is a...small area inside that you can stand and eat, however I just ate outside as it was a nice evening. It was fairly busy but the food is already cooked so it’s all served up nice and quick. One small note, if you’re hungry then get two sausages as one just wasn’t enough!More
Curry 61 is in a nice area and the service is fast and friendly. I would agree that their 'hot' version is not particularly spicy and so don't be alarmed if you accidentally order it! The sausage is tasty and there is a meat free...version too. There is a (very) small standing/dining area inside which is not particularly socially distanced so if you want a sit-down meal, this probably isn't for you unless you have bagged a bench around the corner.More
Relative to a sit down dinner, a currywurst from Curry61 is relatively affordable. But you can enjoy other 'fast food' options like falafel or gyro for a similar price, but much better quality. The curry flavor is not noticeable - it's more like tomato sauce...than curry sauce - and the sausage itself is so lacking in flavor, it's comparable to tofu sausages like Tofurkey.
I still think it's worthwhile to try currywurst in Berlin, especially because a lot of locals eat it and you might as well follow their example. Just manage your expectations.More
