This place has some terrific authentic Chinese food. The soups are so tasty and the mains are to die for. The fried duck is one of my favorite dishes there and the kung pao chicken has very large pieces of chicken. We also got some fried wontons last time and were very good. The location is not any a very... More

My favourite Chinese Restaurant in Berlin and the best one I know out of China. What ever I ate, and I was there a couple of times, it was just delicious. They have a great selection of wine and got a price for their selection. Easy to get a place for two, but you need to take a reservation if... More

I have lived around the corner for 12 years and walked into the Hot Spot by accident, as the whole place looks like your regular Chinese joint, very unassuming. The service by the staff is fairly straightforward (except for those evenings, when you are being served personally by the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Wu), and the interior design is nothing... More

At the restaurant the food was average chinese food, as you can expect of at least in a place/price like this. So no bad word about food. But the service was quite awfull. All the time that we spend at the restaurant waitresses were rude. Just for example when we, at the end, pay our couple hundred pill: not a... More

Mr. Wu's cooking is legendary and rightly so. Try chairman Mao's favorit, red pork belly! The wine list is exceptional for a chinese restaurant, too. The service depends on who you get and how they feel, can be really bad... The interior is plain. Definitely an experience not to miss if great food is what you are looking for!

Disappointing chicken - both the mild with curry and pineapple (no taste of either) and the gong-bao, in which only a few flakes of chili were hot. Sweet-sour sauce ok, term also describes waitress. Pass it by, go truly Italian 500 m down the same road.

Full disclosure: I come from Singapore and I like my food really spicy. We arrived in Berlin on a Saturday evening and were craving Asian food. I had read about Hot Spot in a UK newspaper—the writer declared it authentic and super spicy and that sounded about right! We made reservations just in case. I'd read that it can get... More

We were staying at nearby hotel & thought we'd try the Hot Spot for a Chinese meal. We have 2 children so wanted to eat early. We arrived at the restaurant at just after 5pm, where it was empty. The very rude waitress shooed us out the door saying all reserved, go. I am sure the tables were reserved later,... More

It's nice to eat at a szechuan restaurant that has spicy food. The wine list is extensive, the ones we chose were very good. Also, the food was nice. Three chili marked plates were pretty spicy, we weren't brave enough to choose the 4 chili marked dishes. We were also with someone whom frequents this restaurant so the wait staff... More

We wanted some Asian food, had just arrived in Berlin, and this restaurant was nearby. When we walked in, early in the evening, there was only one table occupied, but the rest all had reserved signs on them. We asked if we could have a quick meal and the server whisked a reserve sign off a table next to the... More
