Excellent, speedy and helpful service. Compact but selective menu. Food hot, wholesome and plenty. All at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. No negatives whatsoever. Comfortable surroundings so highly recommended.

Watched the above game with my Scottish friend. He didn't like the result, I did. But more importantly, the Lir offers a nice atmosphere to watch a rugby game at the weekend. Hopefully they are also going to show the Champions Cup. Guinness is as good as in most Irish Pubs and the food is good, although I shouldn't have... More

This is a great spot. Staff are very accommodating. They've a lovely fire place. The beer is cold and the food is just like home. They used have taytos but haven't seen them in awhile. Best pint of Guinness in town. They know what they're doing and it works! If you go be prepared to stay awhile it's so cosy.... More

The Lir is a quality Irish pub on a quiet street near the Bellevue S-Bahn station. I just saw it by chance while walking to the station. There's an outside terrace in front of the pub and inside is very nicely done up without trying too hard to be "Irish." The bar staff when I was there were all Irish... More

We love going to this wonderful Irish pub as we have had many a good night in here. On our latest visit to Berlin we were here for their wonderful 3 day beer festival THE BERLIN BEER FESTIVAL ( BIERMIELE ) . We needed a nice calm port of call after attending day one and settled on THE LIR IRISH... More

Very autentic and tasty classic fish and chips. However, the pretty waiter removed our food and beers before we had finished and returned with two new beers claiming that we had ordered them. Accidental misunderstanding, yes, but she insisted an argued that we had ordered the beers. Very silly.

Visited this pub whilst in a weekend break. They sell Magners and Guiness as you'd expect. English speaking bar staff as you should get in a Irish Pub. A lot of people eating and a good menu. Definitely worth a call. In a lovely quiet location.

I have frequented this pub numerous times since May 2014 together with several of my Irish friends, all of whom live in Berlin. This has been primarily, but no solely, to watch big sports games on TV. We have therefore tended to bring large groups of people with us, spent long hours there, and spent considerable amounts of money. The... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
