Quite average compared to Italian restaurants we've experienced. It was with our family and children on our first night, so it served us well as a quick bite, but I can't say anything outstanding about the interior nor the food. Don't order the fish. The pastas were okay.

Have a great lunch menu consisting of two changing dishes each day at a reasonable price. Staff is really nice as well.

Perhaps not the most romantic location, and chosen because it was close to our hotel, but we were very surprised by the authentic quality of the great food and the friendly service

The tomato sauce tasted like it was made by someones mum, from scratch, and had been cooking slowly to get -just- the perfect taste. We had some of the best pasta we've ever had, we stayed quiet while eating, dreamy eyes looking into the horizon, thinking about Italy and good food for body and soul alike.

After a tiring day exploring Berlin my daughter wanted to eat at an Italian restaurant and we stumbled upon this place and sat outside on the pavement in the warm evening sunshine. The food, service and ambience were all very good and it was a delightful way to end our fabulous first day exploring this amazing city.

We were passing by this restaurant and we had straight been attracted from the lights and the cozy atmosphere. We had our dinner outside in the little terrace. The menu is small and very selective as the food is mainly homemade with the best quality food ingredients which makes this little restaurant absolutely fantastic. The staff is mainly Italian, friendly... More

Visited twice on one trip. Stopped in on sunny lunchtime, sat outside with a glass of wine from an extensive selection and an antipasti sharing plate. Came back for the bottle at dinner time. Good Italian food (not pizzeria), one block back from Unter den Linden so a bit more relaxing, even in July.

See Clipper City apartments review. Berlin restaurants in this area around Gendarmmarkt and Unter den Linden can be a little stodgily German, but this restaurant has interesting non-traditional Italian food, lively vibe and very good, relaxed service.

A venue with so much potential but surely does not function when all tables are occupied. We waited for 2 hours for our food. Complained and the mitigation was free wine, given we had already drank two bottles, this was the wrong move. Food.... Not worth the wait.

The Sagrantino is a wonderful, creative concept combining a wine bar, restaurant, travel agents and web portal for the many oenological and cultural attractions in the Sagrantino region, with plenty of other surprises in store including its links with the music programmes at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin State Opera) and the Komische Oper Berlin (Berlin Comic Opera). The culinary delights of this innovative, artistic meeting place are popular with the many (well-connected) fans of the Sagrantino and includes traditional Italian fare such as Stuzzichini, Carpaccio, Zuppa, Pasta, Insalate, Desserts, plus Degustazione, Breakfasts, Business Lunches and other little extras, and of course excellent wines from the Sagrantino region, all at very reasonable prices.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
