We initially called in for a beer and immediately liked the atmosphere and traditional decor. The host was friendly and we decided to return for a meal. He remembered us and took time to talk us through the traditional dishes. His recommendations were great and we really enjoyed the German cuisine. The host gave us some background history of Berlin... More

I went out look for typical German cuisine and found it here. I had currywurst with fries and a lovely piece of applestrudel with vanilla sauce. Make sure that you are really hungry because the portions are huge but at the same time the price level is very low! A beautiful little restaurant with great service. I had such a... More

It is a typical German restaurant. The food was nice. We had snitchel with salad. Also it wasn't expensive. The only thing that I didn't line was the atmosphere and the old decoration.

It was a great place to visit as it served Berlin style food and the decor was typical of the city. It was close to our hotel and just a few doors down from The Hard Rock Cafe. The waiter spoke english and the service was friendly. Berlin beer, of course.

This is a classy restaurant just off the Kurfürstendamm Blvd. Enjoy the Bier and fine wines, take in lunch or dinner. Off beat from the hustle and bustle of shopping.

Came here by accident, the place we were looking for was across the street, but the building was under renovation so we didn't see it. Atmosphere was authentic German , we were the only non Germans in the place. The service was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter helped us thru the specials of the day and made some recommendations.... More

Me and my girlfriend visted this Bar on a cold Saturday night. Where we wanted to experience an authentic Berlin/German Bar, beer and food. From the time we sat down, we were made to feel welcome. The beer was great, the barman spoke excellent English and was fun to chat to, the regular clients were welcoming too. I tried some... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
