We were staying in the centre of Berlin but really liked the look of this place from the reviews on Trip Advisor and the menus we had found on the internet. It was quite a way on the U-Bahn (approx. 10 stops) and a little walk from the station. However, it was well worth the effort. It was a Friday... More

Outside table for 9 for a lovely meal after a business training day. The weather was lovely so had table outside. Tried the meze and some lovely dishes. I had the schnitzel and it was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend

We had booked an outside table so were seated immediately and brought a complementary beer with the menus, in English as well as German. The waitress spoke excellent English, by the way. We decided to try the (rather less authentic idea of) German tapas followed by a Wiener Schnitzel - pork, rather than veal. What a mistake! The Schnitzel was... More

Had dinner here a few weeks ago with my Husband and parents. The food is awesome, super authentic and delicious. The service however is terrible - waited 45min for a table (told it would be 15min) and then another 35min to have our drink order taken. Had to chase a waitress down to take our dinner order. Seems like it's... More

Went to Schnitzelei on a Saturday evening in Berlin. They do take reservations, but we did not make any and were still able to sit immediately. This place served a complimentary bier as you sat down for a little taster, so I thought that was different. They have German tapas, which I thought was very unique, and delicious. They have... My husband had eaten in this place couple of months ago during a business trip to Berlin with his colleagues and could not stop talking about it ever since. So last week we decided to try this as a family and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and fluent in English. Complimentary bread and bear was a nice... More

If I would to visit Berlin again, the Schnitzelei would definetely be a restaurant I would revisit. We did not reserve a table but we were welcomed to a nice spot in the restaurant. The ambiance is nice and we were treated to a complimentary little beer. Which even I, as a non-beer-drinker, quite liked. The choice in food and... More

A very pleasant dinner overall. We all ordered a schnitzel, which we agreed was very crispy and tasty, though a little on the pricey side. However, we found the personnel's jokes and comments to be a little annoying, although we cannot blame them for trying to be funny and entertaining.

Right after arriving in Berlin I had to look for a place with good schnitzel. On various lists I found Schnitzelei was in top3 of Berlin's restaurants serving traditional schnitzel. After arriving we had been given a small beer on the house (without even ordering). We ordered the 6 German tapas platter/ wooden board with various snack sized foods. Everything... More

Description
The place to go for a good Schnitzel. The name of the restaurant says it all. There is a really good choice of Schnitzel. The restaurant also caters for vegetarians with a parmesan risotto Schnitzel. The good traditional Austrian fare goes down well with the general public. Start off your meal with a selection of starters offering all kinds of delicacies. The staff are great. So too are the rectangular lamps on the walls which are even used as candleholders. The wine selection is very good.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
