This was an outstanding restaurant and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The blending of ingredients - with a generous use of fresh herbs - gave the dishes distinct and original flavors. The presentation of courses and attention to detail was excellent. The...More

I felt mixed at Bieberbau. Very good food, but lacking -- lacking the excellent service required by a Michellin star. The tables are very closely spaced -- not a romantic spot. The choices are limited, but we did not have a bad dish. You choose...More

Booked this restaurant for a nice meal out on our first trip to Berlin. Had a fantastic time, the food was amazing and the staff were very helpful! This restaurant is a great option for vegetarians with a full vegetarian menu that is really nice!

This was our second visit and while the food, if not altogether spectacular was solid and well made and the wines and spirits well selected and pleasing, I found the service lacking. I'm not sure whether we violated some unwritten dress code but I found...More

Efficient service, as one might expect, but the food fell short of our expectations. While some courses were very good, others were uninteresting. A mixed bag, so to speak. Appetizer of cucumber, avocado, cheese ball, compiled of interesting segments, but together didn't work in my...More

This restaurant is in a less touristic area, in a building that does not look like it hosts a great restaurant. But it is a great restaurant! The staff is friendly, the food amazing and the wine suggestions were very good. We had a great...More

The most amazing place tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The food service and atmosphere at this wonderful restaurant made our trip to Berlin memorable.

Bieberbau was a very good discovery. The food was very good, very interesting taste mixed in plate. We passed a very good evening with very friendly waiters. Another very good surprise was the wine. The wine menu is made of german wine. We took 2...More

We had one vegan and one vegetarian five-course dinner. Most of the food was fabulous, strong tastes and daring combinations. It was one of the best dinners we ever had. The service was good, but not amazing, the waiters' English was not good enough for...More

Came here based on Trip Advisor reviews. This restaurant is on par with Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Qunice in San Francisco. The latter not because of atmosphere or appointments but because of food quality and presentation. You simply cannot get better tasting food than...More

Description
Bieberbau at Durlacher Str. 15 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf is part of a former studio and dwelling house. Built 1893/94 by Wilhelm Walther for the sculptuor Richard Bieber, it was nearly completely destroyed by a firebomb during World War II. Only the rooms and decoration of what is now the restaurant survived. The stucco ornamentation you can admire here have been created by the most advanced students and trainedcraftsmen of the principal and owner. He maintained a plasterer's and sculptuor's studio. The decorations depict different motives from mythology and rural life. They show advanced technical skills. The premises in their organic design provide an insight into the stuccateurs' craftmenship unique for Berlin around the turn of the twentieth century. They offer a unique spatial experience the qualitiy and complexitiy of which were out of the ordinary. In the backyard of the house there were several studios, amongst others those of the expressionist work group ,,Die Brücke" (,,The Bridge"). Between 1910 and 1913 Max Pechstein and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner worked here.
