The staff is helpful, the food is fresh, and at €4 for a 10" sandwich, it's a bargain. It gets crowded and the grill cook takes... More

..because the magnificence of this one will surely spoil all others for me. It was amazing- the quality of the meat, the perfect texture of the bread. All for a fantastic price, served with a smile. What more could you ask for?

After being recommended Izmir Konak Grill by a blog, we popper by to try the Kofte sandwich for lunch. The area arouns Kortbusser Tor has lots of Turkish restaurant, picking out the right one can be difficult - do your research. The kofte sandwich was excellent: served in fresh and crispy sandwich bread, excellent vegetables, seasoned at your own preferance,... More

This place offers a great kofte sandwich, it is no exaggeration to say that I had the best kofte sandwich here. You should definitely try it if you are in the neighborhood.

This place was great for a quick meal before a night out around Kottbusser Tor. The sis kofte (skewered meatball strips) and crusty bread were excellent, as were the big plates of fresh salad. Atmosphere was loud and crowded on a Friday night with fast counter service. When trying to find the place, note that the main sign out front... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
